Sangzhu Staycation Kangzhu Luxury Residence ( Dukezong Ancient City, Shangri-La)

Staying at Shangrila Sonam Delek Boutique Hotel exceeded all my expectations. It's built on the foundations of a former Tusi (chieftain's) residence, so it's steeped in history, and the ******* style is wonderfully authentic. There are plenty of photogenic spots around the courtyard that feel naturally integrated, making for great photos. The location is perfect – right next to Dukezong Ancient City, offering a nice balance of activity and tranquility. The facilities are top-notch. It's truly a distinctive cultural guesthouse, representative of what you'd want for a stay in Shangri-La.

This is a truly unique and charming hotel, with a dignified, antique feel. The wooden stairs, rooms, and floors create a wonderful ambiance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. Besides the usual disposable amenities, they also provided items like shawls and hats, perfect for taking great photos. There's an oxygen machine in the room, and underfloor heating, too! They offer afternoon tea daily and milk in the evenings. Right outside the hotel is a very popular cafe. You can even get discount cards from the hotel for Thangka painting experiences and travel photography. Lastly, the hotel's location is fantastic; you can see the prayer wheel of Guishan Park right as you step out and turn left.

The hotel is a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, with a very ******* style. Although the breakfast selection isn't vast, it's light and includes local specialties. Definitely worth recommending.

The room had a strong ******* vibe, with beautiful wooden structures. The underfloor heating was fantastic, keeping us warm on cold高原 nights. The fireplace and copper bathtub were unique touches, and everything was clean and tidy. It was a peaceful oasis despite being in a bustling area. We felt very relaxed, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

This hotel is located right in the heart of Dukezong Ancient Town, which makes it super convenient for exploring. It has a distinctive ******* style, making it a great spot for photos. The hotel is clean and the service is warm and friendly.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. Thangzhu Coffee is right outside the door, which was super convenient for a quick visit.

The service was absolutely excellent, and I loved the ancient-style ambiance – there were so many great spots for photos! Plus, being so close to the ancient city, I even received a warm bottle of milk at night. My only regret is that I experienced some mild altitude sickness; otherwise, I would have definitely gone horseback riding at their ranch.

The ******* atmosphere here is incredible! The wood and stone architecture, along with the detailed carvings, are really impressive. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the high-altitude amenities were a thoughtful touch. Our butler was warm and welcoming, and enjoying butter tea in the courtyard with a view was lovely. However, the chieftain's feast they recommended was pretty mediocre, though the performance was quite good! 👍 The breakfast could definitely be more hygienic; my friend got an upset stomach after eating it.

We drove from Lijiang, and it was an easy, smooth drive on the highway, taking less than 2 hours to reach the hotel's spacious parking lot. The butler was already waiting for us in a commercial vehicle, ready to pick us up. In less than ten minutes, we arrived at the hotel entrance. The hotel is located right next to Moonlight Square, in the heart of Dukezong Ancient City, with all amenities close by. You can even see the giant prayer wheel right from the entrance. Stepping inside, the Tibetan-style decor completely amazed us, with beautiful Thangka paintings, coffee, and ******* artifacts – every corner was picture-perfect. The room was well-equipped, clean, and hygienic. The staff were polite and enthusiastic, and the breakfast was varied and distinctive. We'll definitely be staying here again when we return from Meili Snow Mountain.
