Paramount Gallery Hotel

Jing'an District
I picked this hotel as I was arriving late at HongQiao train station and this is on the same metro train line 2. It’s very close to metro. Opposite Jing An temple. Close to several shopping malls. Not as busy as East Nanjing Rd. Use exit 14 if u travel with luggage. The staff here are friendly. Concierge even helped me with my luggage to the metro entrance. Clean, comfy bed, quiet room.

Service was absolutely spectacular. Location was excellent and design was perfect and serene in a bustling city. They helped me celebrate my mother’s birthday and it was perfection. I just wished we had more time to use their spa facilities. Loved it.

The hotel is well located and the staff is very nice. However, the rooms as very dirty and run down. There is a wide variety for breakfast but it seemed the food had been resting there for a long time. The gym is ok. We paid for an upgrade to an Executive room (Club Lounge access). We were told the Lounge was open for breakfast, it was not. There room was smelling to cigarettes so much, the only solution they gave us was to spray the room. We ended up checking out 2 days earlier as it did not seem fair the price we were paying for the poor cleanliness and bad maintenance of the rooms.

I booked this place because I had to go to the US consulate to renew my visa. Such a convenient location, right south of the Jingan Park. A 15 minute walk to the consulate. It was lovely The staff was super helpful, even when I kept asking them for more ice.

Another great stay at the Swissotel! As always a great welcome and greeting by the night manager Jason. His associate, Jack is also always kind and very helpful with anything that I may need. Always so inviting, caring and makes me feel like a family member when I stay. The hotel is decorated nicely for Christmas and has a nice holiday feel. Breakfast is always a nice treat, served hot and fresh with many options. Until next time Swissotel. Merry Christmas🎄 ( Photo is a nighttime view from my amazing room~ such a nice skyline)

Shanghai's Seasons and Apparel

Shanghai has a humid subtropical climate. Summers (June-August) are hot and humid, while winters (December-February) can be quite cold. The best times to visit are autumn (September-November) and spring (March-May), when the weather is moderate. Pack a mix of lightweight and warm clothing to adjust to fluctuating temperatures in Shanghai.
