Our stay was pleasant and most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. They will greet us whenever we walked pass. Too bad we did not have the chance to enjoy the facilities and dine in the hotel. One feedback I had was during our check-in day on 28 Feb 2024. We were not sure if we had arrived at the right hotel as we do not know the hotel's Chinese name. It was raining and I wanted to alight & make a quick check with an older porter at the hotel entrance/drop-off point. When I asked the older porter ”这里是不是 Okura Garden Hotel?” He just brushed me aside and said ”不知道!”. In the end I had to dashed into the hotel lobby and reconfirmed with the reception on duty. Understand that English may not be a common language for the hotel staff especially the older ones. But won't it make a great difference if the staff at least knows the English name of the hotel that they are working for?

The hotel itself is nice, you need to know which building you are booking as there are 3 then there's a hotel around the corner with same/similar name. The biggest downfall is the aircon is set at 25degrees so it's like an oven in the room which makes for a very unrestful sleep, i was only there for one night so not too bad i did hear as i was leaving that if you are staying you can request a fan.

I booked the hotel to spend the New Year’s Eve. We arrived there at 12:00 am to make check in because it’s normal in China to make early check in. The reception attendant said that the room was not ready, we needed to wait until 14:00. Ok, we came back at 14:10. Waited in a long line to make check in. In the end the receptionist said that the room was still not ready, asked us to wait more 30 minutes. At 15:00 we were able to enter the room. Seems like the reason for this problem was over booking, but the hotel is a 5 star hotel, I expected a better treatment. They didn’t offer anything to apologize. Apart of it, the room is good, nice view.

The building is very special, it’s obviously got character but well the inside is very dated, some of the fixtures are not very well detailed for example the shower has some screws coming off and well it’s an old building so it’s understandable, the breakfast was good so was the coffee but half of the staff was friendly and half was a bit careless. It was a good experience.

A lovely hotel with a rich historical ambiance, and the room size was amazing, exceeding my expectations. The ground-floor restaurant was very convenient, but there are several restaurants and pubs nearby offering plenty of alternative options. However, I decided to try the traditional Shanghai cuisine in the hotel and had a meal there. The food tasted good, although it was a bit pricey. The surrounding area was pleasant, perfect for a relaxing stroll that kept me in a pleasant mood.

This hotel was a great find! This was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in while living in Asia. Walking distance between two subway stations and in an area with a large array of restaurants and shops, the location is great. The staff was welcoming and spoke English. Although they follow city laws and don’t put some of the amenities in rooms any more, they are available for taking in the lobby. Unfortunately, there was hair on the floor and towels, thus the reason for the low score in cleanliness. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will stay here again next time I’m in Shanghai.

Location is not bad not perfect too. If you primarily move by Metro the Station South Shaanxi Road is 750m away what is a liitle anoying when you have to walk it a lot of times.. You can take one of the rental bike which are in big numbers at the station and in front of the hotel as well. Oppsite to the hotel there a s small mini.market where you get a lot of things like beverages, snacks and so on like you find in any mini-market. Stuff is friendly, but if you need english then this is quite limited except of the upper management. Breakfast is good. I had an executive room on 24th floor. The room was goog in any way. If there is a complaint then only regarding the ”executive lounge”, which basically does not exist. There are to standard hotel rooms with a connectiong door where some tables, chairs and sofas are placed. More or less nothing mentionable offered there, except for some very basic packages of snacks which you wuld get in the minimarket for a few RNB. So the executive lounge is definitly NO REASON to book an executive room! But all in all except of this executive lounge topic, which feels a little bit like a rip-off, the hotel is fine and recommendable.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to go out for the night in Found 158. The hotel is only up the road from an abundance of small and beautiful shops. Checking in was faster than at other hotels with no extra unnecessary questions. The decor is a little old but that has no affect on anything but aesthetics. I had two issues however. The only mirror available was in the bathroom where there are no useable plug points for appliances. It was a fun little mission to straighten my hair in the reflection of the mirror.

Great location close to the metro lines and shops. Kfc and mcdonalds just beside the hotel, with brands like Uniqlo and Muji surrounding as well. Staff friendly and helpful and daily housekeeping, room amenities sufficient for a business trip. Room aircon works well and the cool air was esepcially welcoming after a hot day out in Shanghai. Highly recommend!

I have stayed at Youxi Movie Hotel at 242 Ju Lu Road, Shanghai, China about three and half weeks from 13th November to 5th December. I had a wonderful time there. It located at the central Shanghai and is close to many entertainment centres and tourist attractions and shopping centra. The staffs at Youxi Movie Hotel were very helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. It was very surprise to me that my room is very quiet at night and you can watch a film on the wall while you are in the bed. My room is quite big so once I had my friends came over to watch the movie and chatter. And this hotel is quite new and the my room is very clean too.

InterContinental being my favorite hotel, I always look for one wherever I go. I was in Shanghai for a short stay and I wanted it to be relaxing and elegant so… didn’t have to think too much about it. You guys never disappoint me. First of all, just by walking around th hotel you get a free history lesson about Shanghai from decades ago. Beautiful paintings on the wall, gorgeous architecture, y’all the bathtub in my room was… incredible. It made me forgive you for not having the spa working on that day. There’s this quiet room you can go to read a book or just enjoy the pictures of important events, people or movies. The food is good! I spent my morning walking around the beautiful garden. My room had a great view and a balcony, thanks to the gentleman who made my checkin. I tend to get the highest floor and he was super nice in getting a really good room for me when I explained what I wanted. On the way to my room I met this elegant butler who easily told me how to get to my room like he had the hotel map memorized in his head and gave me this Downton Abbey vibes, you know what I mean?! Amazing!!! Love it ❤️

First of all, the location is very good, the two gates of the community are on Jinxian Road and the other is on Changle Road. It is adjacent to the two streets that are so lively, but it is not noisy at all. The house is also very easy to find. There are many small animals in the community. There are vegetables in the morning, which is very interesting. I lived for more than a month, and I lived out my feelings hahahaha. Although the house is on the first floor, it has floor heating. It is really important for Shanghai. The quality of life is up, the washing machine is dry, the bathroom is small but the life is not in the way, the kitchen is very good, the stove is a bit high, haha, I don’t know if the landlord is big and tall, so it’s designed like this, haha. I lived at home and bought a lot of pots and pans. The small balcony that enters the door can be said to be very perfect, there is a canopy, anyway, the living feeling is very good. The landlord is also very good and responsive. The only drawback is that because it is an old house, the sound insulation is not particularly good in terms of structure, you can hear the sound of playing the piano upstairs, and the sound of humans going out to work in the morning. The house did not take pictures, it was the appearance of the IKEA model room, the large room, attached a few favorite photos, not necessarily a reference role, but I like it very much.
