Wanda Reign Hotel

The Bund Area Shanghai|1.26km from The Cool Docks
Overall a lovely experience, very luxurious. The check-in process was particularly notable—it didn’t feel like many hotels where you stand at a counter to check in, instead your luggage is taken to a counter and you’re seated in armchair while the concierge checked you in. A nice touch! The rooms are extremely spacious, with even the fairly basic room I booked having a seating and dining area. Everything in the room (curtains, lights, AC) is controlled via an iPad, which also felt very nice. The bed was comfy, view of the Bund was stunning both at night and during the day, and the bed was comfy. The added amenities like a Nespresso machine, selection of Chinese teas, and bath salts for the huge circular bathtub were all greatly appreciated. The breakfast had a good variety of Chinese (especially Shanghainese) and western options, mostly on-par with other 5-star hotels in China. Not bad but nothing to make it stand out. My complaints are few, but worth mentioning: 1.) the AC in the room just wasn’t that effective. Even though the weather is cooling down in Shanghai, the room seemed stuffy. I cranked it all the way down to 15 C but still woke up too warm. 2.) I left my room in the evening briefly to grab some takeaway I had ordered and when I returned there was a staff member in my room!! He was placing a plate of fruit on the table (which id lovely and not the reason I’m complaining). I was quite startled and said “hello” in Chinese and looked a bit shocked but he didn’t say a word or apologize and just ran out while staring at me. Perhaps he only speaks Chinese, saw I was a foreigner and thought I couldn’t speak Chinese…not sure. It was definitely a strange encounter.

Shanghai Lujiazui Riverside Hotel

Lujiazui Area
The location of the hotel is very good, it has a sense of design, the facilities are complete and comfortable, and the service is very considerate. The only shortcoming is that the restaurant environment is average, the quality of catering needs to be improved, and the breakfast is not many varieties and tastes average. I originally paid for an extra breakfast I didn’t go to eat either, but the meal I paid cannot be refunded.

My second stay and I totally recommend this Yihotel, large room with good city views, set back from the road in quiet residential neighbourhood, close to a harbour for crossing the river and lots of bicycles available to rent for exploring Pudong. This hotel only a few minutes cycle from Shanghai Tower Observatory, lots of great little shops selling deep-fried doughsticks, pancakes etc. just a block away to the east. Compared to other hotels in this area (e.g. Citigo) I think this is best value for money & I would definitely stay again.
Home Inn (Shanghai the Bund City God Temple Xiaonanmen Metro Station)

First of all, the transportation is convenient, the bathroom is spacious, the facilities are complete, very clean, the quilt pillows of the big bed are very comfortable, a word! Be sure to find a regret, that is, the sound insulation is a bit inferior, but compared with the advantages, it can almost be ignored, next time you come to Shanghai is still the first choice.
IFOREST S Hotel

The hotel rooms are clean, the decoration is very distinctive, very suitable for young people, there are welcome fruits in the lobby, and the young lady at the front desk is too easy-going and cute! The location is very good, just by the Huangpu River, very close to the ferry, less than 2 minutes walk, about 800 meters from the subway, it may take ten minutes to walk. There is also an intelligent control system in the room, which can pull the curtains and adjust the lights. In short, it is very cool. It is worth mentioning that there is a smart toilet, which is great and the experience is very good. Partners together

This is my second time staying at CitiGo On the Bund (third time overall with the brand) and it’s quickly becoming my home away from home! I love the location, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable! It’s my “go to” hotel when visiting friends in Shanghai!
