Shanghai Guangfulin Prime Minister's Mansion Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the entrance of Guangfulin Cultural Site. The lobby is a magnificent 500-year-old Prime Minister's residence from Jiangxi, full of ancient charm and character. The rooms are two-story and each has its own private terrace. The coffee bar is well-equipped with a capsule coffee machine and a refrigerator. Breakfast offers a good variety and tastes delicious.

Looking to escape the city's hustle and bustle for a weekend with the family, the Shanghai Songjiang Guangfulin Zaixiangfu Hotel was an absolutely fantastic choice. Nestled within the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, its white walls and dark tiled roofs exude an ancient charm. Opening the window, you're greeted with a seamless view of water and sky, making you feel as if you've stepped into a traditional Jiangnan ink wash painting. What truly impressed me was the hotel's thoughtful consideration for families. The rooms are spacious and bright, equipped with children's toiletries and small slippers. The family suites even feature fun tents and a picture book corner, which had our kids bouncing with excitement the moment they walked in. The outdoor lawn is large enough for kite-flying and playing soccer, while the indoor heated pool is clean and warm, ensuring worry-free family splashing. The hotel also offers complimentary Hanfu rental, making for a unique and memorable family photoshoot under the ancient corridors. Dining was another highlight. The breakfast buffet offered local specialties like mini wontons and Songjiang rice cakes, alongside cartoon-themed pastries that the kids adored. For dinner, we enjoyed light and fresh dishes such as Songjiang perch and seasonal vegetables, which suited both the elderly and the children. Strolling along Fulin Lake in the evening, watching the sunset cast its glow on the golden roofs of Zhiye Zen Temple, felt incredibly gentle and unhurried. There were no crowds here, just attentive service and lush greenery everywhere. The elderly enjoyed the tranquil garden aesthetics, the children happily explored, and the adults savored a rare moment of peace. After our stay, the whole family was absolutely delighted – this is what an ideal family 'micro-vacation' looks like.

The lobby also houses many other collectibles, and the view from the Yunjian Cafe is excellent. The garden isn't large, but its tranquility is a major plus. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and tastefully decorated, with comfortable bedding. The toiletries are Clarins and Dyson. The organized service was the most impressive aspect of this stay: Before check-in, the hotel proactively called to inform me about the room status and suggest an arrival time. After adding the butler on WeChat, they promptly sent all necessary information, and I was able to check in early after contacting them that day. On the same day, my child got two small scratches at the museum. When I called for antiseptic back at the hotel, delivery was delayed due to many guests. The hotel proactively sent a pre-bedtime dessert and apologized in person, then called back to apologize again, and the butler also inquired about the injury via WeChat. At dinner in Yi Garden, even though it wasn't quite time, a table was arranged very quickly. The next day, I experienced the 'Prime Minister's Mansion Story' guided tour service; even though I was the only one, the guide patiently and smilingly delivered an excellent explanation. I also experienced the hotel package's travel photography service. The makeup artist was very skilled, and the photographer was excellent at framing and composition. Selecting photos within half an hour after the shoot was also quite efficient! My only minor suggestion is to add more signposts in the garden.

Looking for a hotel to relax and entertain the kids during the Dragon Boat Festival, I immediately booked the Zaixiangfu Hotel after seeing it. Many residents from downtown Shanghai were also there for a getaway. Although there was a queue for check-in, the process was quite fast. We booked the Little Yellow Duck themed room, which my child absolutely loved. The kids' club and water park kept my little one entertained for hours.

For breakfast, there were mild porridges and pastries suitable for children. The location was also very convenient for getting around to local attractions. Every detail catered to families traveling with children, making this our top choice for a stay with kids.
