Wanda Reign Hotel

Location of the hotel was great, it was near the attraction areas. The view from the hotel was wonderful we could see both the bund and the river ! The hotel breakfast was scrumptious there was wide selection of different cuisines. The interior of the hotel was high technology, clean and very comfortable and relaxing ! The house keeping service was great.

Overall a lovely experience, very luxurious. The check-in process was particularly notable—it didn’t feel like many hotels where you stand at a counter to check in, instead your luggage is taken to a counter and you’re seated in armchair while the concierge checked you in. A nice touch! The rooms are extremely spacious, with even the fairly basic room I booked having a seating and dining area. Everything in the room (curtains, lights, AC) is controlled via an iPad, which also felt very nice. The bed was comfy, view of the Bund was stunning both at night and during the day, and the bed was comfy. The added amenities like a Nespresso machine, selection of Chinese teas, and bath salts for the huge circular bathtub were all greatly appreciated. The breakfast had a good variety of Chinese (especially Shanghainese) and western options, mostly on-par with other 5-star hotels in China. Not bad but nothing to make it stand out. My complaints are few, but worth mentioning: 1.) the AC in the room just wasn’t that effective. Even though the weather is cooling down in Shanghai, the room seemed stuffy. I cranked it all the way down to 15 C but still woke up too warm. 2.) I left my room in the evening briefly to grab some takeaway I had ordered and when I returned there was a staff member in my room!! He was placing a plate of fruit on the table (which id lovely and not the reason I’m complaining). I was quite startled and said “hello” in Chinese and looked a bit shocked but he didn’t say a word or apologize and just ran out while staring at me. Perhaps he only speaks Chinese, saw I was a foreigner and thought I couldn’t speak Chinese…not sure. It was definitely a strange encounter.

Hotel decoration is very beautiful and grand. Worth coming for a stay if you are planing to reside by the bund

The room was beautiful. I loved having a Bund view room. The breakfast buffet was really good, however, I did not think the dinner was that great. The options were limited. My husband and I enjoyed going to the rooftop bar. It has a fantastic view. The service was slow and they stopped serving drinks at midnight, but overall, I would come back. I love the location of the hotel. We live in Shanghai, but really liked being down on the Bund for the night and within walking distance to Yuan Gardens and old town. It was a good getaway.

This is the best looking hotel I've stayed in. I had the regular king room and it was fantastic. The decorations; mix of metals, woods and stone; incredibly elegant looking rooms and lobbies. The lobby floor was inlayed labradorite; super cool. I used the roof top bar 1 time and it was good and $$, but too windy and cold to enjoy this evening. I didn't try the other amenities or restaurants.
