Magnotel Hotel (Shanghai Lujiazui Riverside)

The exterior looks quite luxurious, but the interior seems a bit dated. The staff mentioned it's an older hotel, built in '08, so there are some issues with the facilities, like leaky toilets in some rooms or noisy exhaust fans in others. If you can overlook those minor imperfections, it's a good choice. The staff were very helpful and promptly moved us to a different room when we had an issue.

Is this a chain hotel? The comforter was yellow, damp, and smelly. The bathroom had a foul odor, so we had to keep the door shut, and the lock wasn't working very well. We only stayed one night and left the next day, so our expectations weren't high to begin with. The front desk staff was arrogant, and the location was inconvenient, more than a kilometer from the nearest subway station.

Beyond expectations, it was fantastic! The exterior might not look like much, but the interior has a great style. My kids absolutely loved it, and the price wasn't too high, especially considering it's in the most central part of Shanghai, making it convenient to get anywhere.

Fantastic location, within walking distance to the Bund. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered a spectacular view overlooking the Huangpu River and Lujiazui's night skyline. The service was warm and attentive, facilities were comprehensive, and transportation was convenient. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend it!

Facilities: Excellent, very new. Hygiene: Excellent, water provided conveniently, and the staff gave me extra water twice. Environment: Very good, clean, tidy, comfortable, and upscale. Service: Absolutely excellent, front desk deserves a shout-out, their service was superb.

I've stayed here several times. This hotel on Puming Road is conveniently located near many restaurants, and it's just a short walk to the subway station. Even though it's an older hotel with somewhat dated facilities, the rooms are quite spacious.

The front desk staff was awful, with terrible attitudes. When I mentioned 'himself,' there were actually two guys at the front desk. They even argued with me and kept asking me questions instead of answering mine. I don't understand why they'd hire such front desk personnel.
