The Jiangnan region truly shines during the plum rain season. I've stayed here over 10 times, and each visit offers a unique experience. In the mornings, I enjoy a leisurely stroll nearby, soaking in the misty plum rain, then return to the hotel to gaze at the beautiful garden views. Amidst my usual hurried comings and goings, this place feels like a welcome stopover, prompting me to slow down. This time, I deliberately flew in a day early, simply to unwind and enjoy a full 24 hours of relaxation at the hotel. The service is incredibly thoughtful and comfortable. It's clean, tidy, and maintains a perfect sense of privacy. In today's busy world, it provides a much-needed space to breathe slowly. A true haven for de-stressing.

I arrived in the middle of the night to a warm and friendly welcome. Porters and reception staff were polite and efficient and couldn’t do enough to help me. Stunning surroundings, and a clean, comfortable and spacious room. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a little more comfort.

This Garden Hotel is my top choice when visiting Shanghai. The environment is beautiful, and it's also perfect for those traveling by car. Guests get free parking, and the hotel has its own lot, which is super convenient for getting around. Even though it's an older hotel, it has modern smart toilets, making it suitable for all kinds of guests!

I stayed at the Garden Hotel again during the May Golden Week holiday to watch the Longines Global Champions Tour in Shanghai. My first stay at the Garden Hotel was 30 years ago. The marble in the lobby, the Rose restaurant, and the small mosaic tiles in the corridors still maintain their grand and elegant style. That's why I always come back to this familiar place whenever I return to China. It was a family member's birthday on the day we checked in, and the hotel gave us a box of rich chocolates. I was truly touched by the hotel's thoughtfulness, it made us very happy! **Facilities**: The TOTO toilet at the Garden Hotel is my favorite because of its washlet function, making going to the restroom so comfortable! The depth and length of the bathtub are also perfect for me. The slippers are very thick and durable; I always feel reluctant to throw them away when checking out. I even take the used slippers with me to wear on planes or high-speed trains. **Hygiene**: The hygiene details are impeccable. The towels are soft and comfortable, with dense loops, making them very reassuring to use on the skin. **Environment**: The hotel has its own garden, where you can enjoy a rare tranquility in the city of Shanghai during a morning stroll! Just one traffic light to the left of the hotel entrance, there are many small bars and restaurants! There are even two Michelin-starred restaurants! It's definitely worth a walk and exploring. **Service**: I bought many things online, and they were delivered to the hotel in batches. The concierge meticulously recorded everything and delivered them to our room! When we left, the concierge helped put our luggage in the car trunk, opened and closed the doors, and politely bid us farewell. **Welcome Package**: We received canned drinks and snacks, which was a nice surprise!

The room was clean, but the breakfast wasn't great. Everything else was very good.

We were very happy with our upgraded room. The hotel's location is excellent, the room was spotless, and the view from the window was fantastic. There's a beautiful garden with a fountain right as you enter, which adds to the lovely ambiance.

A century-old hotel with a rich history, yet the facilities are quite modern. The service is excellent and very welcoming. The breakfast is quite extensive, with a good selection of Chinese, Western, and Japanese options. The transportation is very convenient. A very satisfying stay.

Booked Garden Hotel for my mom's birthday, and they even sent a box of chocolates, which was a thoughtful touch. The room facilities are quite old, but it was clean, very business-oriented, and spacious. The butter cookies I specifically bought were delicious! My mom particularly praised the service, saying it truly lives up to its reputation as a classic five-star hotel in Shanghainese people's hearts. It was very pleasant to take a walk in the garden after dinner. The breakfast the next day had a Japanese focus, with onsen eggs, natto, and smoked salmon. Overall, a good experience.

Our room had a city view, offering a glimpse of the distant Moller Villa's magical wizard hat and the nearby Lyceum Theatre. The location was super convenient; we could walk to many places like the metro station, Shuai Shuai Home Cooking, and Lan Xin Restaurant on Jinxian Road. The hotel's attention to detail was impressive, with different porcelain screens on each floor. The restaurant also offered both Chinese and Western cuisine. A special shout-out to Ms. Fang at the front desk for helping us with a late check-out until 2 PM, which gave our child time for an extra nap. You can also buy their butter cookies directly from the hotel without needing a reservation.

The room facilities were complete, and the overall impression upon entering was one of elegance. The cleanliness was excellent, with a TOTO smart toilet, sink, and bathtub, all of good quality. However, the hairdryer and kettle were subpar; I had to thoroughly clean them before use, and next time I'd feel more comfortable bringing my own. The hotel environment was beautiful, truly a garden hotel. The service attitude was excellent, very professional.

Belonging to the Okura Hotels group, the cleanliness is top-notch by domestic standards. The location is excellent – it's quietly situated yet right next to a subway station where three lines converge. As for service, the parking attendant was quite impatient. When I asked how to reserve a PMO parking spot, he dismissively said it wasn't his concern, which was a bit much. There's definitely a gap compared to Okura hotels in Japan in this regard. Although the facilities are 36 years old, they are well-maintained, but the signs of age are inevitably present.

It's rare to find an older hotel that maintains such clean and tidy rooms. The front desk and concierge staff were all very friendly and helpful, which made for a truly exceptional stay.

The room is quite spacious, but you have to pick up toiletries from the front desk. There's a terrace at the Night Jasmine Bar on the second floor where you can relax in the evening. Overall, the staff are friendly. The facilities are a bit dated, but they're mostly functional. The shower pressure is good. The only downside is the lack of a skincare set.

The environment is nice, and the room is quiet enough for a good rest. However, there's one drawback: if you order takeout, you have to go down and pick it up yourself. There's no room service staff to bring it to your room.
