Atour Origin Hotel（Shanghai North Bund Riverfront International Plaza）

We chose this hotel for our trip to Disneyland Shanghai, and it's perfectly located between Hongqiao and Disney, right next to a subway station. This made it super convenient to get to Disneyland and explore the old city for food. The hotel's decor is very stylish, and they provide a full range of amenities, showing great attention to detail. Everything was also spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a delightful surprise! They have freshly ground coffee, a mix of Chinese and Western dishes, a live noodle station, and even both sweet and savory toppings for douhua (tofu pudding), settling the North-South debate perfectly. The menu changes daily, and they regularly introduce new dishes. There's also a late-night congee bar, which, despite offering simple congee, side dishes, and steamed buns, was incredibly thoughtful for us after a long day at Disneyland. The staff were all very friendly too. Highly recommend staying here!

This hotel boasts an excellent location, perfectly situated between Hongqiao Airport and Disneyland, both easily accessible by subway. It's also close to The Bund and Lujiazui. A subway station (Line 18) is right across the street, and there's a shopping area nearby. You can even walk to the North Bund attractions. The hotel is newly renovated with comprehensive, smart facilities. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and professional. They explained all the benefits before check-in, and we even received a small gift upon checkout. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding, from Yado, was very comfortable to sleep on. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options and is definitely worth purchasing.

The room was quite clean, and the breakfast restaurant was excellent; the breakfast also offered a bit more variety than the average Atour.

A special thank you to the front desk/concierge (name can be inserted here), who not only efficiently handled my check-in but also thoughtfully noted my personal preferences. That proactive 'already prepared before you ask' service truly made me feel valued and cared for. Utmost Comfort in the Guest Rooms: The room design perfectly balanced aesthetics with functionality. The bedding was incredibly soft, with just the right amount of support, ensuring a night of deep sleep. The in-room amenities (such as toiletries, smart home controls, and a welcome fruit platter) all exuded quality. The view from the window was the cherry on top, offering expansive and refreshing vistas. A Feast for the Taste Buds: The hotel's dining was truly impressive. Breakfast offered a rich variety, blending both Chinese and Western options, with fresh ingredients and exquisite preparation. In particular, the (recommend a dish name) had distinct layers of flavor and was easily on par with a Michelin-starred restaurant. Outstanding Public Facilities: The gym was well-equipped, and the pool water was crystal clear and at a comfortable temperature. The hotel's layout was very well-planned, ensuring privacy while exuding an elegant artistic atmosphere throughout.

The rooms are okay, but many room types have 'fake windows' or face an internal courtyard, offering no ventilation. You'll need a city view room or higher to get a real window that opens to the outside, and those come with a significant price premium.

The facilities are complete, including a washer and dryer. I also used the A.T.our Planet sleep pillow for a good night's rest.

The room was quite clean and the view was great, with a good sight of the 'three-piece suit' (Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center). The bedding was very comfortable, and the laundry room was also clean. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. I would definitely come back again.

The room is a typical Atour 4.0, nothing special. Most rooms either have no windows or fake ones. The size is okay. What I absolutely couldn't stand was the air conditioning – it was stuck on 'fan mode' and couldn't be adjusted, so the room was 30 degrees all night. They brought a portable AC unit, but the noise was so loud I couldn't sleep at all. I've been staying at Atour for over 10 years, and this was definitely the worst night ever. The service was also terrible; for the first time, I encountered staff who were evasive and dishonest, constantly citing 'rules and regulations.' It's the first time I've seen such arrogant 'big-brand bullying' from an Atour in Shanghai. I finally gave up and checked out at 5 AM when it got light. I will never stay here again, and from now on, I'll have to thoroughly vet any Atour before booking. The video below shows the temperature and noise – who could possibly sleep with that?
