Kasumai Beach Resort

Quite good hotel

This is a really nice relaxing place. The staff were terrific most notably the amazingly and permanently smiling and engaging Lamin. Our second floor room had a great view of the garden and ocean. It was spacious and well equipped with a large comfortable bed. The enormous bathroom was superb. TV was pretty useless with a couple of local channels and football. Reasonable WiFi better downstairs in the breakfast room. Breakfast was basic with done items put out several days in a row. The cooked option started well but as the days progressed the bacon got fattier and bittier. But no real grumbles as better than expected. Nice pools and garden with easy access to the beach. We tried to eat here one night but what we were told would be a five minute delay was more than that. We had another commitment so gave up after nearly an hour. Up the track the Roundabout was excellent. We’d easily stay again if in this area.

We hada great time at Kasumai. We traveled with our son of 3,5. Good things at Kasumai are: pool area next to nice beach and palm trees, relaxed vibe, touristic but no overload compared to some resorts. Its not fancy but its defenetly good. The area is nice and relaxing and everything works well even though sometimes slow. Bad things might be no elevator, no fancy entrance, but its worth mentioning that it always felt safe and secure. The location is a small stretch away for the tourist center senegambia. To go there in taxi takes less than 5 minutes. At kasumai you can eat vey very well in their restaurant where they grill excellent food, its not prefabricated and feels home made and is really nice. Also next to the big road 1 minute walk from the hotel there is another restaurant called "the roundabout" which is another very good option. Next to it there is a supermarket as well. All in all I recomend the hotel. We hade a good and big room with ocean views, cleaning was great and everything worked in the room, AC, fridge, good shower etc. We also saw a room without those views and it was large as well but of course its not the same as seeing the ocean. All in all Kasumai is a good option if you want confort, good food, nice beach and good location but you are not a typical "resort" kind of tourist and are not afraid to move around a bit, take a taxi etc.

I had a wonderful stay and the food was great. The rooms were beautiful. They decorated the room for my anniversary.

The room was in terrible conditions and one if tge windows ha one of the double glass broken. The room needs to be painted ,the walls are in very bad conditions due to stains all over the walls and cracks . The hotel in nowhere near the price payed , the views are to the back to a building under construction and the glass is broken , the hotel looks like a 1 star hotel, i was totally disappointed with everything about this hotel and for 85 euros per night i expected much more , room was very poor , breakfast is very poor , facilities are very poor and so is the staff ,the only ok thing is the location being close to the beach but everyone will try to sell you something or offer you ***** and girls...

I have visited a few hotels in The Gambia over a few years and Kasumai beach hotel is one of my favourites. The staff are all amazing and so friendly that it feels like you are family. The beach is beautiful and the views amazing I watched the sunset most evenings drinking a fresh coconut (bliss) The grounds are spotless and the restaurant serves high quality food with a variety of choices delivered with exceptional service. The reception staff are fantastic and helpful. The house keeping are amazing with their warm greetings and attentiveness. The rooms are very spacious, with a large bathroom, great size bed and comfortable pillows. The rooms include a fridge, Tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer. The only criticism I have is the bumpy track leading to the hotel from the road. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. I would highly recommend Kasumai Beach Hotel. I would stay here again.

The staff made the stay amazing, very attentive and friendly. The hotel is clean if a bit tired. The location is excellent, the beach lovely. The Hotel food is excellent, and well priced, I can recommend the calamari, really good. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and stay again.
