We had been to the old Palm Beach Hotel which was in need of TLC and decided to try it now it's had a major refurbishment. What a difference it was and done to a good standard. The rooms have sliding patio doors with a sliding mossie door, air conditioning included (as before) tv,wardrobe, small cupboard, safe(included)kettle, comfy beds, pool towels. The bathrooms will be upgraded at a later date as they were done by previous owners. If you want a fridge you pay extra. Rooms are lovely and clean, bedding changed alternative days and towels also as and when needed. Pool lovely and clean, plenty of sunbeds around the pool area and there a pool bar. The restaurant has plenty of tables inside and outside and the buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. They also have a very good selection of meals/items on the menu at very reasonable prices. There's also plenty of sunbeds on the beach and a beach bar serving drinks and snacks till 6pm. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely and clean and tidy. Very impressed with the "new" Palm Beach Resort and we will be going back.

Booked to stay here for easter but had to be moved to another hotel and pay more as tui was informed it would not be open. Only ate in the restaurant 3 times and the food was of European standard Does look very nice since the renovation compared to before it was closed Hope the hotel dinning area keeps as clean as it is unlike its sister hotel im staying at kombo beach the soft furnishings in dinning areas are filthy

I had a nice stay at Palm Beach Resort ,The hotel is beautiful, especially the beach area with the palm trees it creates a very relaxing atmosphere. However, Mr Renne should reconsider the way advertising or promotions are done. It is not pleasant when announcements are made during breakfast or while guests are sitting and relaxing, Too much of flyers with the staffs roaming, only the entrance and Restaurant door is okay, when we all are going to breakfast we read it everything is clear on the flyer Apart from that, my room was okay, although the door was a bit difficult to lock. With some improvements, the overall experience could be even better.

I stayed at the Palm Beach Hotel in Gambia on 18th February and was actually the first English guest since the hotel reopened after its refurbishment. The staff are absolutely amazing. The service is top class – everyone is always smiling, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The team at breakfast were especially lovely; the young girls serving were kind, attentive and made sure everything was perfect. It really made me feel at home. There was still a little building work finishing off during my stay, but it was clearly coming to an end and didn’t take away from the experience. The hotel itself is looking fresh, modern and very impressive after the refurbishment. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed with respectful guests and a calm environment, which reflects the higher standard the hotel is aiming for. A special mention to Renee and his wife, who are wonderful hosts and clearly care about the hotel and their guests. I’m sure anyone staying here will have a smashing time. I wish the whole team every success with the newly refurbished hotel.

I checked out yesterday from Palm Beach Resort and overall I had a really lovely stay. The food was delicious throughout my visit and the staff were incredibly welcoming, warm, and always ready to help. They really made the atmosphere feel friendly and relaxing, which is exactly what you hope for when you’re on holiday. A special mention to Alima she was absolutely wonderful and added such a positive touch to the experience. I would, however, kindly like to share one small suggestion with management. During breakfast, pool time, or while relaxing on the beach, there were frequent interruptions to inform guests about the live band and entertainment. While we appreciate the effort to promote activities, those moments are often when guests simply want to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Perhaps it would be better to place the information in the rooms with flyers, or paste the notices on the doors which I saw and it’s good, which would be perfectly fine. There is also the entertainment host, Almami, who already announces it with his microphone during pool time, so additional interruptions may not be necessary ( because I heard some of the guests I talked with complaining too). Other of your sister hotels don’t do that. Many of us are here to fully unwind, and too much interaction with guests during quiet moments can sometimes disturb the relaxing holiday vibe. Apart from that small point, we truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Thank you to the amazing team for the hospitality!

Since april Palm Beach hotel is closed, they are building a new resort which will take some time. The managers are gone. It will be a modern big resort run by a dutch entrepeneur. I have wonderfull memories of this nice place… I reccommend everyone going to Gambia to find something as nice and gezellig as Palm Beach. Bamboo Garden Hotel is a good alternative:)

Feb 9 - 19 2025/ Great weather. Great atmosphere. Friendly and problem solving staff. Wonderful Dutch couple let us swap to their room overlooking the Mangrove. Woodpeckers, monkeys, owls herons and god knows what else. Truly magical experience. Been 7 times now in 30 years. I lived in Dubai for 2 years AND STILL wished to holiday in this honest paradise. . Fills my heart with joy to see so much development in The Gambia. Shout out to Jan and his wife and the Silver Man. Can't wait for the Palm beach 2.0. See you soon

We have just come back from a fabulous stay at Palm Beach, had a really good time. It’s currently a bit shabby and run down, however, the current owners are leaving at the end of April. The new owners have great new plans and a building team ready to make a lot of improvements for when the hotel opens for the new season in November. So what’s good at the moment. The staff are truly amazing they do everything they can to make sure you have a good stay. They give a 5 star service. The hotel is on what is probably the best beach in The Gambia. The rooms are currently very shabby but spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and pillows. The shower was excellent always plenty of hot water and the aircon was great at cooling the room down very quickly. The atmosphere around the pool is very friendly and we enjoyed the different bands playing every evening. So what’s not so good. Breakfast all the bad stories are true. We went next door to the beach cafe, pleasant 3 minute stroll on the beach. Food from the poolside bar was generally ok. The best thing on the menu is the Butter chicken, so good we had it three times. For those going next season I think there will be a lot of improvement in all the areas it needs to happen. The staff will remain the same and they are very excited about all the planned improvements. For those going this season if you’re not happy with breakfast go next door, the majority of guests do. Your room maybe shabby but it’s clean and comfortable. The pool is also clean. Remember this is Africa and hospitality industry really suffered loosing two years trade due to COVID. Many small hotels and restaurants did not survive and had to permanently close. The rest are trying to catch up on lost trade and revenue. You are not going to get European standards but you will get a very warm welcome and staff who will do whatever they can to make you happy. Would I go back? Most definitely yes. I think the new owners have some very exciting plans for this hotel.
