Lotte Hotel Seoul Executive Tower

City Hall/Myeong-Dong Seoul|1.29km from Korea House
Stayed at the Lotte Executive Tower just after the holidays, in a Premier Double Room. Pros: - The entrance of the Executive Tower is absolutely beautiful. Same with the Main Tower. Elegant, refined, beautiful art work. The executive tower check-in desks are on the 15th floor. - Easy access by escalator directly into the Lotte Department Store (from where the escalator takes you to, hang a right to get to the famous food hall!) - Location can’t be beat. Directly across from Eujiro Station (1) and around the corner from Myeong-Dong Walking Street / Night Market and several 7-11s (which are almost as good as the 7-11s in Japan). - Our room was beautiful, spacious, thoughtfully designed and decorated. Very modern touches and upscale finishes. A chandelier in the bathroom?? - Immaculate housekeeping. - Excellent temperature and very strong water pressure in the shower! - Appreciate the 2 complimentary bottles of Evian every day. - Fast wifi speeds. Cons: - Love the Diptyque toiletries but wish they weren’t the communal / shared bottles. There were bits of dried lotion crusted on the pump from the previous occupant. - Weird that neither lobby had a single chair to sit on. What’s up with that? Comes off a bit inhospitable. This isn’t the type of place to attract non-guests / loiterers. A bench wouldn’t kill anyone! - For a 5* hotel and the price we’re paying, it’s disappointing that there is a surcharge should you need a toothbrush, toothpaste or use of the sauna (!!). They claim the charge for toothbrush and paste is to prevent wastage but surely you could just have these small items available upon request at the front desk? - The doormen’s manners range from formal and friendly (some) to indifferent (most) to downright hostile (many), especially if you are not a Korean speaker, as many don’t speak English. I’m not arrogant enough to think they should speak English in a non-English speaking country, but a smile is universal, you know? Would likely stay here again at the right price and given the location.

Location: First of all, it was located in front of the bar of Chungmuro Station, so the accessibility was very good! As soon as I got off the station, it was easy to find because it was right there, and it was easy to move to the subway. In addition, there are many food nearby, so I ordered it to be delivered in the evening. At night, I went out with my friends and played in my favorite bar. 🍻 Room interior, cleanliness: First of all, the room stayed in a room for three people, but it was wider than I thought, so three people went to sleep. It was enough, very neat and clean. There was also a table, so it was easy to eat, and it was okay to bring a laptop and see the work! The bathroom is clean and Netflix is available (you need to use your own ID). There is a washing machine, induction, and sink, so you can cook and wash! (I haven't used it, but,) it was just new and tidy because the bathroom was just built. Is it a little unusual that the sink is on the outside? It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't as noisy as Hongdae or Sinchon. It was nice to be quiet at night, not like a noisy downtown area, but because of its good accessibility and location, it was convenient to use public transportation and places to eat or cafes around. It was nice to have a lot! I stayed with my friends, but I think it would be suitable if you are looking for a place to stay for long-distance business trips or business purposes.. !

Rainbow Hotel Myeongdong

City Hall/Myeong-Dong Seoul|0.34km from Korea House
To be honest, it’s not as bad as the other reviews say. We only booked this initially for our visa but forgot to cancel the booking afterwards. Hence we didn’t have a choice but to stay here. I was at first sad because the reviews at this place were really bad but when I got there, it’s more than what I expected. True that the owner was super strict and a bit weird. He has all the rules - you can’t eat, no slippers, you can’t turn the heater on for more than 2 hours (or you’ll burn down the hotel yikes! Or maybe I didn’t understood what he said well), no stains on the bedsheet, you have to put the dirty towel outside everyday, etc. Also, you have to be on time with the checkin or else you won’t get to see him. I said “weird” because there was an unforgettable encounter, wherein he persistently knocked on our bedroom at 11pm just to inform us that he already put the clean towels at our door (of course I didn’t open it and just wait for him to call cuz me and my sister got scared haha). But overall he seems nice. When it comes to the room itself, if you are not that picky, it’s tolerable. The room we stayed at (for 2 persons) was a bit small. We went here during winter so thank god they had this heater placed under the bed so it kept us warm - if u don’t open it, the place is like a freezer. They also have warm and cold water so it was good enough. As far as I can remember, they don’t have curfew so it worked good for us. They don’t have elevators but they have this crate where you can put your baggages and it will go to your floor automatically. The owner is strict with the time, so at exactly checkout time, his maid comes in the room and will kick you out. The location is VERY great. It’s near the train stations, shopping district, convenience stores, restaurants etc. Overall the place is okay. If I were to go back to Korea with no picky companions, I would stay again in this place as it has a very strategic location.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to Chungmuro Station on Lines 3 and 4, about 1 minute away; and the hotel is between Dongdaemun and Myeongdong, you can walk to these two shopping spots, and there are many authentic foods near the hotel . The hygiene level of the hotel is very good, and the service attitude of the staff is kind. The only downside is that the hotel has to walk two stairs (about 20 steps in total) or two slopes with an angle of more than 45 degrees from the ground entrance to the reception, so I personally think it is not suitable for the elderly and people with foot injuries.

The hotel did not use and used the breakfast buffet here. It's 8800 won, probably the cheapest hotel in Seoul. I went around 8:30, but there were few guests, so one person was in charge of the kitchen and the Casher at the same time. Egg dishes are instant, but the food was a bit poor, but it was not bad because you could eat unlimited coffee for 8800 won, some bread types, porridge, salad, etc. There is a rooftop garden on the 13th floor, and it is said that you can deliver it when you order at the cafe on the first floor. The rooftop is all guests ...., so it seems to be available for charter and use. ㅎ

At first I was lost because there was no photo of the exterior and it was an alley that was difficult to understand. The hotel is on the 8th 〜 10th floor of an ordinary building. The elevator, front desk, room, corridor and shared space were all nice and clean. I was also happy that it had a washing machine. There are no bath towels and two small towels. However, I was saved because I could borrow towels many times from the front desk. I stayed alone in a bunk bed room for two people, but I think it would have been hard for two people. There was a big carry case, so it was perfect for one person. The staff was kind and had a good impression. The location was good about 3 minutes from Exit 7 of Chubuji Station, so I want to repeat it.

friendly & helpful staff . Faced some technical issues, staff proactively helped to resolve problems. I had to stay in 2 different hotels instead of 1. most convenient if room located on same level as registration counter, else need to take to take lift to kitchenette.

The hotel is in a very good location, close to the subway station. It has elevators and air conditioning. The rooms are relatively small and the price-performance ratio is very high. The sanitary conditions are good. Recommended. 15 minutes walk to Myeongdong
