Although the room was small, it had everything I needed. It was clean and odor-free, and even came with shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. I could also change towels myself. There's an elevator, which was great for luggage. They provide a microwave, water dispenser, and refrigerator. It's a two-minute walk from the subway, and there are restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby.

What I loved most was the location. APM PLACE and Olive Young are nearby, so I could shop late into the night without worrying about transportation. The room isn't big, but it was quite comfortable for one person. For two, you might have to juggle luggage a bit, but it was clean and tidy, and the hallway even smelled nice. The staff inside were also very kind. All in all, I'm extremely satisfied! 👍

I chose this hotel mainly for its location. It's perfect for anyone wanting to fully experience Dongdaemun. Since it's relatively new, it was very clean, and the room was more spacious than I expected (I could open two suitcases easily). My only minor suggestion would be to add more hangers, as there's no closet.

The hostel's location is fantastic. You can take the airport bus from Incheon Airport and get off at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). After crossing the street, it's just a 3-minute walk to the hostel! Nearby, there are convenience stores, Olive Young, coffee shops, the famous Sparex jjimjilbang, and 24-hour snack bars. The subway station is also only a 3-minute walk away – super convenient!
The only thing to note is that the room space is quite small. We stayed in a bunk bed room for two, and luckily we only had two medium-sized suitcases, one of which was front-opening! Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to open both suitcases simultaneously. That's something to be aware of.
We felt that it's small but has everything you need! It's a great choice for budget travelers.

The location was fantastic and the room was spotless. You can freely replenish towels, toilet paper, tissues, and even power adapters. There's no need to carry a key, so no worries about losing it. Since there's no front desk, all communication outside of check-in and check-out is done via LINE, and they respond immediately. The staff are also very pleasant. I had no problems whatsoever.

I've been to Korea many times, but this was my first time staying in a hostel. I'm a bit of a clean freak, and my previous condition for accommodation was always a separate toilet and shower. However, with accommodation prices rising in recent years, I decided on this place due to its location, which was my next priority. It's super convenient with a bus stop, night shopping, restaurants, and Mega Coffee all nearby.
Luggage storage is available before and after check-in. There was a staff member who spoke Japanese, which was a lifesaver when I had a personal mishap – a big thank you to them! You can easily communicate via LINE or by ringing the bell at the floor entrance, and they'll come quickly.
Regarding other reviews mentioning it being 'cramped,' I chose a deluxe room, so that wasn't an issue for me. I could even open my suitcase. Shoes are not allowed on the floor; you change into slippers. If you're particular, you might want to bring your own. Although the building itself is old, it's been renovated, and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The shower pressure was perfectly fine. There are sandals in the toilet, so a wet floor isn't a problem. The air conditioning water drains into the toilet, so the floor never completely dries. It's a shame there wasn't a bath mat, but I used a face towel instead. There's no trash collection. There were two bottles of water in the fridge. There's also a shared kitchen with a microwave. I really loved it and would definitely stay again.

The location is fantastic! There are tons of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is right around the corner. It was really convenient to be able to stay out late in Dongdaemun and then quickly head back to the hostel. My room was spacious enough to lay out all my luggage, the sheets were clean, and the mattress was comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, and the staff were incredibly kind. You can register for their LINE account using the QR code by the entrance to quickly get in touch with them, and they respond right away. I was a bit worried about the shower and toilet being in one room, but the ventilation was excellent, so it dried quickly. The soundproofing in the room was great; I couldn't hear any noise from other rooms at all. I had my luggage sent from the airport, and they kindly stored it for me, and they'll hold it again when I leave. I was very satisfied with this hostel.

I knew the twin room would be small, but I was still surprised by how tiny it actually was when I got there! Haha. It was so cramped it was hard to even open my suitcase. However, the location was great, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the room was very clean. The bathroom didn't smell at all, and overall it was very comfortable! It's such a blessing to find such a good location at such an affordable price. In Korea, hotels are generally just for sleeping, so I think it's perfectly fine, and I'd love to stay here again next time!

The service was excellent, and the location is superb. The hotel is new, and the rooms are very clean. There are so many restaurant options right downstairs. Plus, you can store your luggage after checking out. The only downside is that the room space is a bit small.

My daughter's first trip to Korea, so I went with her. It's super convenient for sightseeing in Dongdaemun. There are also restaurants on the first floor and a convenience store nearby, so you won't have any trouble. I was a bit confused because the sign outside still had the old hotel name, but I figured it out quickly. The hotel staff were really great too. It seems like the lower floors are still under renovation, but it didn't bother us at all. The room is compact, with only enough space to open one small suitcase, but since we were just sleeping there, it was fine. Having outlets above the bed was a big plus. The bathroom facilities were also good, with excellent water pressure. There's no one at the front desk at night, but if you needed anything, you could just grab it from the entrance. It felt like you could connect with them via LINE if you had any issues (though we didn't have any, so we didn't contact them). I'd definitely want to stay here again if I travel to Korea alone.

I stayed here for 3 nights alone. It was my first time staying at a hostel, so I was a bit apprehensive, but it turned out to be a comfortable experience. Both check-in and check-out had staff present, which was reassuring. There was some construction in the building during my stay, and I was woken up early by the noise. However, the hotel staff apologized, and since it wasn't in the middle of the night, it was acceptable. There's no kettle in the room, but the shared kitchen has a water dispenser, kettle, and microwave, making it easy for longer stays. The only minor inconvenience for longer stays might be laundry. The hotel staff speak fluent Japanese, which made it easy to ask questions and felt very reassuring. Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again if I'm traveling alone.

The service was excellent, and the location is fantastic – right in the city center next to the tram station. There are tons of restaurants and convenience stores downstairs. The only minor drawback is that the room isn't very big, but the cleanliness was top-notch.

Response from Property: Hello, dear customer. First, I would like to clear up the misunderstanding regarding the bed sheets. At Hi Dongdaemun Hostel, we meticulously tidy up every element of the room, including the bedding, whenever a guest checks out. As you can see from other reviews, we have never recycled sheets since we began operating. All sheets are thoroughly laundered at a laundry facility before being set up. Looking at the photo you sent, it appears to be our mattress cover. Unlike typical hotels, we use sheets made of elastic, so wrinkles may naturally form after being set up. It seems you misunderstood these wrinkles as meaning the sheets had not been replaced. If you contact the Trip.com Customer Center regarding this matter, we will kindly explain the situation again and take appropriate action. We are sorry that your visit was not a pleasant experience, but we will strive to provide even better service on your next visit. Thank you.

The room was quite small but generally acceptable. The transportation around the hotel was very convenient, as I could see Dongdaemun History & Culture Park right downstairs and Dongdaemun Market was also quite close. There were plenty of eateries downstairs too. Unfortunately, during our stay, there was renovation going on downstairs, which was incredibly noisy and made it hard to get proper rest. It would probably be fine when there's no renovation. Also, the trash can in the bathroom was really, really, *really* small. Could they please provide a larger one? It was just too tiny. I also strongly suggest that the hotel place a public luggage scale, the kind you can just put your suitcase on, in a common area. The hotel only had a handheld one, which is impossible for women to use to weigh full luggage bags. Having a proper scale would be so much more convenient. I've even attached a picture of the type of scale I've seen in other hotels as a suggestion. It would make weighing luggage so much easier, especially for female travelers. Thank you. Overall, it was an okay stay.

Great location and very clean. The staff were also super friendly and kind. There was a basket in the common area for used towels, which helped keep the room tidy. I'd definitely want to stay here again!
