3 Star Hotels in Semporna

I went to Malaysia in November. Thanks to the hostess and staff for their home-like service, the whole trip was perfect. The hotel is small, has a warm living atmosphere, and is clean and tidy. There are 24-hour self-service refreshments and a drum washing machine on the first floor. There is a large balcony on the second floor for drying clothes and a refrigerator. There is a young lady at the front desk who speaks fluent Chinese and a young man who speaks fluent English and works the night shift. Thanks to the boss lady for arranging the Tawau airport transfer and one-day tour. Especially the half-day tour of Lover's Bay water sports, my parents had a great time. The restaurants we ate at were all recommended by the proprietress, and they were affordable and friendly. I was lucky enough to meet the proprietress in person. She was polite and tall. I also saw Indonesian CJS giving a speech at the stadium. I wish the boss lady a prosperous business and I wish Tawau has an airport worthy of Semporna’s international status.

One of the best Hotel Deal in Semporna town you can get. Location is very convenient for family travelers. Hotel is connected to a small so called town mall, where various fast food chains are just downstairs i.e. Starbucks (the only one in Semporna), KFC, Secret Recipe, 7 Eleven, Convenient Store. With the right room, you can get a great view of the busy sea. DIY Laundry is a bit far though, would have to drive to do your own laundry.

The room is ok and comfortable with aircon and fan. At check-in time in the afternoon, the aircond is very strong and the fan is on It's a cold night, I don't even turn on the aircon haha, just turn on the fan. Amik seaview is ok. The bathroom floor is stagnant. Breakfast is not from the hotel but outside, you can choose between 2 restaurants, but the two Chinese restaurants are not sure if you want to eat even if they only have toasted bread on the menu with another menu of curry noodles/mee soup. Choose one Muslim shop and one Chinese shop, then the choice is correct. These are two Chinese shops. Add the Qibla direction in the hotel room. The location is close to the jetty, he just took the boat to the island. The staff are all ok, good.

It is very convenient to go to the island and to the pier. However, the room facilities are a bit old. It rained for a few days and the window leaked. I used a cup to collect the water. The owner of the seafood shop downstairs is good and the price is fair. It is cheaper than several nearby seafood shops. The rooftop restaurant You can buy seafood and process it yourself. The boss is Chinese and the processing fee is not expensive.

Pros- Location is near the jetty. supermarkets, watsons are nearby walking distance. As you walked through the main entrance its like a different world. Love the main lobby area where there's arcade games, pool table, a movie area with bean bags. Breakfast spread is simple but good enough. Rooms deco as shown in photos. Cons - Hot shower was inconsistent. Need to wait for a while till its warm. And its not very hot. Room not very clean. Soundproofing not that great. If you're a light sleeper maybe not a good option.

The location is a bit far from the pier. Take a car to the pier for a few minutes. There is basically no food sold nearby. If you need anything, you have to buy it near the pier and take it back, but this way you will be far away from the noise. The sister at the front desk is very nice and can drive us to the pier and place to eat. The boss can speak Chinese, if you need anything, you can call and communicate with the boss smoothly! The car to and from the airport can be booked directly with the boss. The room is very big. Although the accommodation environment is average, it is cheap. The overall comfort of the accommodation is not bad. The point is that there is a yard where you can dry clothes! ! ! After island hopping, you can dry your clothes in time every day, and who knows what it feels like not to bring a bunch of stinky clothes home! ! !

Great location for choice just walk 4/5 mins can reach jetty❤️Including breakfast but if stay over 1 night won’t have room cleaning service need to ask staff for change your towels and bedsheets. So far it’s okay for staycation and staff at there all are helpful and cute🫶

Everything was good except the cleanliness and amenities. I think they should upgrade that and also add shampoo since it is what it says in hotel review that they provide it but there's no shampoo.

Sea Star Perfect resort. Perfect location. Perfect staff. Wonderful owner, ERIC, who has great PR 👍🏻. Staff is respectful and friendly. I cannot ask for more. Highly recommend Sea Star Resort. We bought a 3D2N Sea Star Resort package. It included a return transfer by van from Tawau Airport to Semporna boat jetty which took almost 1.5h, a 10-minute boat ride to Sea Star Resort, a whole day of island hopping and snorkelling, all meals (breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner 👍🏻), free usage of inflatables, transparent paddle boat and snorkelling gear and unlimited supply of drinking water. The room is very clean and spacious- had a king size bed plus a day bed. Bath area was spacious and attractive. Really love this place very much. Look at the video I have attached! Air conditioned, good internet connection and extended balcony. Food is local buffet style. We enjoyed all our meals there. You will get an assortment of dishes. For dinner, you get good large prawns 🍤 and fish👍🏻. Tea is special- besides 2-3 types if local cakes, you get an endless supply of banana fritters which are very addictive 👍🏻 The sea water around the resort and beyond is crystal clear. You can always see the marine creatures in the water. From 4pm, use of inflatables, transparent paddle boat and snorkelling gear are supervised. Very kind staff who are ever ready to lend a helping hand. We are grateful to Eric, Gordon, Amsyar, Lisa and all the Sea Star Resort staff. We will be back!
