"More of a motel attached to a restaurant than a conventional hotel. Rooms are small but clean enough and fairly comfortable. Situated in the middle of nowhere so a trek into Leeds, York etc. Food and drink in the restaurant are a bit expensive"

"A colleague and I stayed here early July 2024 and were very impressed with the facilities and rooms - very clean, comfortable with plenty of finishing touches. Owners were friendly but not imposing and accommodating (particularly on our early Saturday breakfast). Looked at the previous reviews and the lower ranked ones seem quite petty - do not be put off - we'd certainly stay here again if in the area."

Stapleton/Parkgate Cottages

"It took me a long time to find it. It's a residential house on the side of the road. However, when I went around it, I found that it was a renovated residential house, as if it had been renovated by a sub-landlord. The house had a damp smell and was very unclean. There was no air conditioning, no WiFi, and cobwebs. It was close to the road and very noisy. The overall experience was very bad. The good thing was that there was a supermarket next to it, but nothing else!"

"The room was very clean and comfortable. It exceeded my expectations with regard to the little extras that mean so much ie coffee and tea milk and sugar in plentiful supply. This extends to the bathroom with plenty of shower gel and soaps which I did not use but appreciated the fact they were there."
