Best Western Providence-Seekonk Inn

The location is very good, convenient for the upper and lower 195 highways. The room is large and the breakfast is average. The staff is enthusiastic and has questions to help with quick processing. It is very rare in the East. The room was clean and tidy.

I booked this hotel from Expedia for 4 days in July (12th-16th). In May I cancelled it (so in PLENTY OF TIME.) Fast forward to July 13th, I get a notification of a charge (it was declined because I didn’t have the money in my account) for the full amount of my stay. I called the hotel to ask them why because I had cancelled it already. Guy at the desk informs me that they never got the cancellation from Expedia. I told him I had the email and asked him if there was anything else I needed to do. He said no, since the charge was declined anyway. I then get 3 separate charges of $25 each ($75 total was charged to my card) on my account today from the hotel (after a charge of almost $200 was declined on my account.) I call the hotel again, and was informed again that they never got the cancellation. I explained everything, but it didn’t matter. I was told to contact Expedia and have them call the hotel directly to confirm the cancellation. So I did. Expedia calls them, tells them they have the confirmation of the cancellation (I still have the cancellation email as proof) and they told Expedia that they didn’t get the cancellation and would not be refunding me! I don’t know what more they want. I have the email I’ve offered to forward to them. Expedia themselves called them (as per request) and they STILL decide refuse my refund! Even if it was a mistake on Expedia’s end, why punish me and continue to charge me even after having proof of cancellation. Very slimy. Don’t give this place your money!

I just read the other reviews and feel almost like I'm reviewing a different motel. Originally the room was $79/night but we upgraded to a room with a 'kitchenette' for an additional $10. The upgrade consisted of a tiny fridge and a little microwave. Maybe I was expecting a bit more, like a coffee pot. No tub, only a shower. The woman at the front desk seemed to be clueless about the area and where to find things. Housekeeping was nice. The room was clean enough but too expensive for what we got; maybe worth $60 a night.

Although hotel is undergoing renovations noise was kept to a minimum. Only one morning did we hear noise. Disappointed that pool undergoing major renovation so it was closed. Room was clean upon arrival. Bed was comfortable. Nice selection of breakfast foods and area kept very clean and fully stocked by the 2 breakfast servers we had met. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Hotel location ideal to restaurants, shopping and attractions. Safe area. Lots of parking available.

Clean and a few great restaurants only 20-30 minutes away. They made sure my deposit was refunded after a reminder.
