Kirks Korner Motel

Scunthorpe|1.98km from downtown
We arrived to find that of our 3 rooms booked and paid for only 2 were available and the other had been sold to another. They made up an disused room for us to replace this sold room. However instead of the ”deluxe room” booked we had a room used for the homeless by the council which was confirmed by the staff. The facilities are very basic and some dont work. Some rooms are better than others. We had 3 rooms. Our bathroom light was intermittent, the bathroom handle was hanging off. The paint is peeling in all rooms. My daughters room was awful and we did not use it. Her bedroom window did not close even at the end of October when cold; The light on the stairway (with no windows) did not work, so the stairs were total darkness; The shower did not work and was hanging off the wall with bare wires; The tv was missing, The carpet was totally disgusting and was covered in so many stains that you didn't want to take your shoes off; Basic kitchen facilities are missing eg no bowls (had to use a lunch box to eat our cereal), other guests are loud and disrepectful... Hairs in the sink and shower; Skid marks in the toilet; Sheets are un-ironed (but a minor point considering); Communal kitchens are a disgrace and not fit for use, microwave disgusting, grease everywhere. No natural light in our room as the blind would not go up, however in another room there was no blind at all, so the light came in the room very early. We only wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep, the location was not so important, however if this is important you need to know this is on a forecourt of a petrol station. The firedoor which said to keep closed, was propped open with the fire extinguisher, which not only meant the door was not closed but there was also a blockage in the doorway. I hate having to leave a negative review but this property just isn't up to the basic standards. The only positives the bed was reasonably comfortable and the room temperature was fine in the rooms where the window closed. Wifi was OK.

Premier Inn Scunthorpe
4.5/542 Reviews
Iv stayed here numerous times and i cannot find a bad word to say. It is very important to note that you get what you pay for. Its cheap and cheerful and all basics are covered! Rooms are always spotless! But what really stands out here is the staff! The receptionists are always very friendly and what i believe to be the ”head” housekeeper Sonia goes above and beyond every single time i stay making it feel like you have been friends for years! premier inns may well be generic but this one you get unbelievable staff!

OYO Hotel Clamart
3.7/514 Reviews
Whilst the Clamart Hotel is basic it is however clean , tidy and it met my needs in every way possible. I could not praise the level of outstanding customer service I received during my stay (5 nights) . During my stay I needed frequent help with navigating my way around the local town as my wife and I had never been to this area before , the staff went above and beyond to make sure we could utilise the local amenities to maximum effect. The Hotel Manager(Jack) in particular went as far as to give us his personal mobile number So we could phone him if needed (which at times we did due to getting lost and not once were we made to feel a burden). Would rate this hotel as highly as possible for its outstanding staff team alone!!! Thank you Hotel Clamart We will be back ! :)
Royal Inn
3.4/579 Reviews
The hotel is an old English-style hotel. The room and bathroom are large. The bathroom faucet is difficult to control. After the electric kettle is opened, it is not dare to use it. It is necessary to pick up the luggage and make a sound on the wooden building. There are big supermarkets and places to buy food nearby. Convenience
