Schwarzenburg Hotels & Accommodations

We spent two nights in this hotel in the category: Deluxe Studio. The hotel is 150 m from the train station to Bern. The train travels every 22 minutes to the city centre to the station/spatalgate for €14 per person. The deep garage places for €15 per day are large and there were no free parking available before the hotel. There was a card for the room available by self-checking. The air circulation in the flowers to the room and the air in the Deluxe studio was very ”distant”. Since the windows can be opened in the Deluxe studio, the air is quickly fresh again. The Deluxe studio has a size of 27 m2 and a lot of stuff in a large closet. The bed is comfortable with view of a large flat. The kitchen is well equipped, a small washing machine is also available. A desk is directly front of the window with gardens and outdoor roller shops. The price-performance ratio is met.

PROS - Modern clean rooms with comfortable beds and reading lights. - Fast and easy route to the centre via the bus (free to guests!) - Black out blinds - Two bed apartment was very spacious - Laundry facilities (washer and dryer, 2 francs each) were really helpful, and clearly signposted - Parking including reasonably fast electric car charging - Concierge was available, helpful and very friendly. CONS - The air con was very slow even when turned up to the highest setting, and rooms were hot. Windows don’t open. - The breakfast was abysmal value. No fruit selection (just the usual bulk-bought fruit salad; it doesn’t cost much to put some apples and seasonal fruit in a bowl to choose from!). The scrambled eggs were rated inedible by the whole family. No baguette or whole loaves to slice, just large individual rolls and some white sliced processed bread.

Nice Looking Hotel, Lacking Service I had high expectations for this hotel because of the name and the price and felt it didn't live up to either. The room was small but very nice room features and esthetics were great. The view was awesome, the bed was comfy and I loved the pillow menu. The room service was also really great. Good food, amount of time for delivery was great as well. The not-so-good: Our ”air system” in the room was not working the entire time and it was a constant fight with the hotel staff for them to even look at it. It was never addressed during our stay at all. When we brought it up to the lady at the front desk she told us we should open a window. I didn't pay $350 a night to be told to ”open a window” and I'm not a fan of sleeping with bugs that fly into the room. We did manage to get a fan for the room and that did help a little but the attitude was not appreciated. Also, we had a problem with housekeeping unplugging anything and EVERYTHING left to charge in our room while we were not there. One item was my electric toothbrush which was dead. They even when as far as removing our room key entirely from the wall. I found this very unacceptable. We are energy conscious but if I leave something to charge it's for a reason. Also on our checkout day housekeeping walked into our room at 8 am and saw my husband naked getting out of the shower. The location is okay, not super convenient, overall beautiful hotel but staff need some major training in how to service and communicate with guests.

I was in Bern Youth Hostel for two nights and I have to say that it is a super address for a short stay in Bern. The booking and payment in advance was completely unproblematic. The staff was super friendly, took time to explain things and you could even pray nicely. The rooms are spacious, clean and great bonus: there is one box for everyone that you can close with the room card. Breakfast is inclusive and it is more than rich: coffee, musli, bread, cheese, fruit as much as you want. With the expensive prices in Bern, this is an absolute enjoyment to start in the day. You get the price including the Bern Card 2. Class with which you can use all public transportation (including the belt track). I have only two small things to defect: bathroom and toilet were built in the staircase and very narrow. And the mattresses were absolutely through. In addition to these small things, I can only recommend a visit because of the location. The hostel is located directly in the city centre and still is pleasant and quiet right next to the Aare.

The hotel is very well situated, in the center of Bern. Beds, bathroom and corridors of the hotel are clean. Highly recommended !

The location of the hotel is still a little away from the downtown area of Fribourg. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes by bus from the train station and then another 10 minutes on foot. However, we plan to have a relatively good time for family travel this time. On the contrary, I like it very much. It is most convenient if you live here and drive by yourself. There are many parking spaces in the parking lot. This time with children, the family loves this hotel very much. The hotel is very new, the rooms and bathrooms are relatively spacious, there is a garden in front, and the sheep farm can take the baby for a walk. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful residential areas. There is a Chinese restaurant within a 20-minute walk, and a good bakery and coffee shop within a ten-minute walk. Suitable for friends who don't have a tight schedule. The hotel breakfast is very fresh and very good. The hotel does not have a TV, and the kettle is only used in public spaces, and there is no extra space in the room. This is a very affordable and simple hotel.

The location of the hotel is relatively biased, but it is in a sales area, so eating, shopping, watching movies is very convenient, and there are many choices. It is especially worth mentioning that hotel guests can use the water park on the edge for free, which is absolutely worthwhile.

Had a great experience and excellent stay over two nights. Check in and check out we’re easy and smooth, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable, good shower pressure and clean. Had dinner on one of the nights and it was very good and tasty. Risto with smoked salmon. Again staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel within a good walk of the old town with stunning views walking up the hill from the bear park.

I am aware it is a Moxy and also for the rate I could imagine what to expect. In general it was ok, but I was upset about the ironing room. The iron was dirty and I destroyed 2 white shirts. I have reported it but it took some time to correct it and provide a clean iron. I was on business and wanted to iron my shirts. Most hotels have an iron in the room, but at least they had this iron room. Also no phones in the room and first night the internet was not working - so you need to go back to the reception. Also the barmen and some staff on the reception only spoke English. This is also no problem but for a hotel in Bern a bit strange. Positive the room and the comfortable bed. Also the boxes to deposit the suitcase if you check out early near reception. Location is also good with only a few steps to the train and tram and super guests get a free ticket for the duration of the stay for public transport.
