The Bell Hotel, Saxmundham

I went to The Bell for my birthday and got to experience the amazing seven course tasting menu. In addition, we were hosted in the private dining room for an extra special treat. The food at The Bell was fantastic, with some really innovative dishes. The atmosphere was really cool and the service was perfect. I would highly recommend visiting The Bell.

We stayed at the Bell for 2 nights for a friends wedding. The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful. We took the opportunity to have a long bike ride in the beautiful area and the hotel were really helpful suggesting a route. The room was fantastic with a lovely bath. We also had some very good fish and chips

We went to a nearby wedding at bruisyard and stayed at the bell hotel. We were a group booking of 6 rooms. Staff made you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive at check in to showing you where to park. Food was of high standard with some of our party eating dinner on the Friday all enjoying their meals. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the staff made you feel nothing was a problem and you were important to them. The bar area can become full, they encourage you to use the seating and offer waiters service to ensure the bar is not overcrowded. Rooms spotless and decor as the photos show. We all would recommend the hotel if you’re looking for a place to stay in the area.

As per other reviews, this is a lovely, friendly hotel. The decor and furnishings are great, a comfy bed and immaculate bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was superb as was dinner and the reasonably priced wine. The staff were very friendly and informative, especially Sharon who provided tips on where to visit and the best places to park. Overall an excellent stay and great location to explore the local area. Thank you for looking after us.

This stay was amazing, room was good value for money. Room was perfect temperature on arrival. Food was amazing as always. Service second to none. We have used this hotel often recently as we are moving to Saxmundham from Essex and this has been the perfect base to work from. Thank you for making a stressful time so much easier.

If you are reading this and want to know if this is a good hotel to stay in I tell you look no further!! This is an absolute 4 star gem. A real traditional hotel away from the modern day commercialism of the hotel chains. It is situated in the lovely town of Saxmundham with easy access to the coast and other places of interest. It is owned and run by a family who have really created a beatful environment, like a family home really. It is tastefully furnished and decorated. Lovely blinds in the rooms. Sumptuous linen and towels. Practical shower/toilet en-suites with anti-slip floors and lighted mirrors. The rooms are spacious, the beds large and generous drawers and hanging provision is available. The dining room, breakfast room and bar are again tastefully decorated with lovely furniture: substantial chairs to sit in for a change!!! The food is excellent. Breakfast out of this world: try the "hearty Suffolk" platter... set you up for the day. The evening menu is limited but each dish exquisite and do try the Friday night fish and chips with a glass of prosecco!! The fish just melts in your mouth... And to really put the icing on the cake: the staff are so friendly and helpful. Always there to hope your stay is the best possible Yes, this was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. I thoroughly reccommend it....

Simply put this hotel is excellent, a little gem in the heart of Suffolk. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by the team. Callum and Matt proved excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Stayed in room 4, absolutely perfect, the kids said it’s the best family room we have ever stayed in. It beats the George Hotel in Edinburgh! We won’t hesitate to re visit, rare to have such an honest family feel whilst experiencing modern luxury in a hotel. The Beales family should be proud of this hotel and we look forward to returning in the summer.

I don’t usually give reviews but had to make an exception here. I booked the wrong Bell Inn for a 70th Birthday celebration, so this could have ended up a disaster. However Matthew, not wanting to disappoint our day,let us use the Coach Room and had a fantastic meal and afternoon. Thank you Matthew we will be back Service and food exemplary.

Had another great stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived to moment we left the service and experience was second to none. Afternoon meal was very nice and the service was excellent. Evening service did not disappoint. Only slight down was it took our room (10) a while to reach an ambient temperature, perhaps raising the thermostatic radiator before our arrival would have helped. A small oversight which did not interrupt our overall enjoyment. Hope to see you again soon.
