Pugdundee Safari- Denwa Backwater Escape

Nestled in the wilderness with absolutely breathtaking views, my stay at Denwa was nothing short of amazing. The rooms were absolutely perfect- comfortable, well appointed and luxurious. The hospitality, absolutely scrumptious food and meals and the beauty of Satpura, this place has it all. The ***ager Prashant is absolutely amazing. He ensured that all needs were taken care off, organized some great activities such as boating and jungle walks and always asked if we needed something. His team is absolutely amazing too- K****ij and the rest of the team are extremely knowledgeable and the best part of the stay was having meals at their dining which has the most amazing view of the backwaters

Had the most wonderful stay at this incredible property in the heart of Satpura. Cosiest rooms with some incredible views. Exception service from a very polite and caring staff. Always assisting us to try and experience activities and everything unique that the forest has to offer. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely lodge in a lovely area. Cottage was large and very comfortable with a veranda facing the river. Food was delicious and plentiful. Very nice team of staff who looked after us. Lodge was close to the National Park, which is reached by jeep and boat.

Small upmarket resort that exceeds all expectations. Small so that it has very personal service. I had a cottage overlooking the Tawa reservoir, a large body of water which backs onto the tiger reserve. The cottage is large with a beautiful picture window looking over to the water & bush. There was a king size bed & the cottage is air-conditioned (although rather loud) plus a ceiling fan. There is seperate wifi in each cottage, a bit slow but adequate. There is a big on-suite with a walk in shower. The cottage had a roof top deck & a deck on the ground floor. There are only 8 cottages, two upmarket ten accommodation, plus 4 suites. There is a seperate building for dining. All my meals were included. All the food was delicious although too much. If you don’t want Indian food the chef will arrange a western meal. Safaris, both jeep & water, can be taken from here into the tiger reserve and well worth doing. The retreat also has a large swimming room. And it does get pretty hot during the day. Unfortunately during my stay there was a large noisy Indian family staying who were rude to the staff & other guests which spoilt it just a bit. ***agement did their best to sort it out. The staff are superb & go out of their way to be helpful and friendly & get to know your likes & dislikes. You need at least two nights here, preferably more, to enjoy this very special place.

A return visit which exceeded our previous one. On arrival we were welcomed and met our guide K from our visit last year. Our cottage no 3 had a lakeside view from which we could watch the activities of the birds and other wildlife. We also provided amusement for the monkeys who looked through the window at us and played on the roof.. The restaurant provides cuisine and service of the highest quality. The lunchtime Thal is exceptional. A continental alternative is provided for dinner. The guiding services stood out, we wanted to focus on sloth bear, leopards, birdlife etc although those who wanted to see tigers were not disappointed. Will we return? Already thinking about it.

Fantastic stay with a cottage with an awesome view of the Denwa river. Wild life galore and peaceful and serene. The ***ager and the naturalists and staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and ever ready to assist. The meals were local, wholesome and delicious and the entire experience of spending four nights at Denwa was a memorable one. Must visit place to enjoy wild life.

Beautiful place....best hospitality , experienced river safari no words to describe how it feels, unreal it was ,food was yumm ...if you love nature you should atleast visit once.last but not the least NATURE cannot be described in words,u can just experience....Thank you for each n everyone from the staff for personal attention 🙏

Scenic, peaceful, idyllic. Very close to the Core Area and abutting the Buffer Zone. Often enough wild boars and deer are frolicking outside the room. Great cuisine adds to the ambience. Mr. K****ij Gambhir, in-house naturalist and factotum is an excellent spotter and very knowledgeable. The only place to stay for a jaunt to the Park which has wildlife in abundance. Lovely flora too.

Excellent stay. The hospitality here is beyond par excellence. Loved how each and every staff including Pankaj, Jai, Prashant, K***n, K****ij (might be forgetting a few names) was dedicated to our comfort and luxury. The rooms etc were also fantastic. Highly recommend this to anyone going to Madhai.
