Hostel Hasta la Vista

It was the worst experience I've ever had in a hostel. We booked our stay directly at the reception for a private room and when we first checked in, they didn't give us any key to our room and said that it was "safe anyways". They told us to come back later should by the time they find the key to our room. So we left our stuff, including passports, luggage, money and we went for the rest of the day. After coming back to the hostel and asked again for the key to our room, the girl at the reception seemed confusion and told us that they actually put a group of 7 people in OUR ROOM. They canceled their booking and didn't know where to put them with all their stuff, so they decided to use our room as a storage. We walked in into our room, the door is not locked anyways, and literally found a girl sleeping in our bed. It was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional at all. The girl at the reception seemed obviously completely confused and couldn't understand what was going on and very embarrassed. They canceled a group of traveler's booking and when they showed up they put them in our room. The reception calls the manager and he ends up giving us a refund and instead of apologizing the only thing he says is "C'EST LA VIE" (it is what it is basically). We could've end up completely homeless and thankfully there was availabilities for last minute booking in other hostels. I rarely give bad reviews but this needs to be known as I don't want anyone else to experience that at all. Consider checking other places before choosing this one. There are many that have a better location, cleaner, and mostly more professional and safer. You don't want to end up in a country you are visiting completely homeless.

Despite the barking dogs all night & mosquitos if I opened the windows I didn’t sleep and had an early start Luke on reception was really helpful so I’d rate this hostel highly. It’s close to the port and bus if you need to catch a bus like I did to the north. Make sure you go all the way to Tirana for 1500 lekke. They threw me out at a coastal town and thankfully a local got me on a mini bus to Shkoder which broke down 5 times and we ended up walking into town. Don’t get a minibus my tip for travel up north only for mountain connections.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hasta La Vista. The hostel is big, with more than enough bathrooms, very comfortable couches in the lounge area. Super easy to socialise with people. The staff is funny and very helpful. Very good location, and no hotels around the hostel so you can have a local experience

I was in sarande between July, august. Beautifull village with a market, nice boulevard, and very kind people. Hasta a la vista is a great hostel with people from all over the world. The beds, showers, toilets and kitchen where clean, an there are enough work space and relax opportunities. The people of the hostel where very kind. Hope I can visit this lovely place, maybe this year again....

The hostel is really nice and also all the people who works there. Albano, the owner, was very gentle, he took us to visit the blue eye for the day and was amazing. Thank you so much! Highly recommend :)

I had problem logging in WIFI and after logging in, it was weak. There were drunk girls who squealed all night. The owner simply ignored us and seems to be reveling in watching the spectacle of drunk girls. Gross place!

Wonderful people and very helpful staff, clean, good location, everything was amazing ! Perfect place for solo travelers exploring the Albanian coast. As for Saranda which is a must stop - it’s a hidden pearl in the Balkans with gorgeous mountains, historic and natural parks around. Thank you guys and see you next time :)

best hostel ever! tripadvisor should think about having more stars to rate hostels like this! such a nice place to meet people and also get work done. Staff is awesome and Albano is always there to give you tips and helping with doubts...also sharing fruit from the hostel's garden!! definitely i'll come back! thank you so much Hasta la Vista fam (L)

Missed dustbins in the rooms and bathrooms...this made everything more dirty...sleeping was okay but layer was in bad condition. Organizer Trip was great even If it had run out of time...due to late Start ...
