We stopped here en route to Calais and it was an ideal stopover. The room was clean, spacious and had basic kitchen facilities should we have needed them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were travelling with two dogs and had a downstairs room close to an exit which was ideal. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant where clients receive a discount on showing their room key. The only downside was that the Wifi in the room was not working. It was essential for us as we needed to complete a locator form. Fortunately as it was still not working the next day we were given acces to the office WiFi which served its purpose.

Stayed overnight at this motel on our way back from The Alps. Thought we were going to have a disturbed night as walls are very thin but things quietened down by 11 o'clock ish. Breakfast was very good as expected but we were disappointed with the evening meal that we had prebooked. Didn't compare well with our stay at the Campanile in North Moulins where we ate in Le Restaurant. Our meal was at the Leon de Bruxelles chain next door and we felt like second class citizens with our meal voucher. Very limited choice which was not from the normal menu and portions were very small. Will make sure that any future bookings are at Campanile with Le Restaurant attached.

Close to the historic centre (10 min walk along the river, very nice). Perfectly adequate (if small) rooms (we had 2 connecting rooms, useful for our children), decent breakfast (mixed Continental and English). Friendly staff, on site parking. Overall, great location and good value for money.

Stopped here on our return to Blighty after a 7 hour journey from the deepest south, planned timing having gone a little awry due to personal ineptitude but in the end not a problem really. They have secure parking which is a must for me, coming from the crime riddled UK and working on the basis that everywhere must be at least as bad (not at all true). We’d noted on other reviews that the hotel is not necessarily going to attract passing trade by its looks which, now having seen it, is a fair comment, but really does belie the reality of what lies below the surface. This is a place that we will very definitely revisit both for the hotel, their food and the town. We arrived during rush hour it seemed and so had to recce the area before making a final approach when my co-pilot was launched to advise of our arrival. As a result, the large gates located to the right of the hotel were opened by the proprietor who assisted by halting the traffic whilst the rather narrow and unforgiving entrance was negotiated by my bus. The car park itself is located in a walled area and is indeed as advertised and as about as secure as it gets. There was a very pleasant welcome and we were guided to our ground floor, garden facing room which was modern, clean and well appointed (no tea and coffee facilities though which was a shame). There are possibly 10 or so rooms all facing the garden which is a large walled affair with a terrace/courtyard where meals can be enjoyed. Very pleasant, peaceful and relaxing particularly after a long journey. We’d booked for dinner which is only on offer to residents and was extremely good with a good choice of freshly prepared fare all for around E25 plus wine and coffee, each - bargain! Beaugency itself is a very pleasant, Loire side town and although we went for a wander after dinner, it deserves more exploration since there is bags of history in the town. We will definitely revisit after summer but this time plan it a little better. As regards the Le Beaugency hotel itself I would very definitely recommend a visit including the partaking of their dining facilities, all in all, extremely good value and a very enjoyable stay. The whole lot was just under E174 which included, comfy bed, lovely breakfast and superb evening meal which I’d regard as excellent value.

We stopped by this hotel to break our long travel and we were not disappointed. We normally opt to stay at Novotels, if possible when we travel just because we know what to expect, comfortable beds, good location, clean rooms. We did get all this but so much more. The service in particular, was impeccable and went above and beyond the expectation. Shirley from the reception was extremely helpful. She was so accommodating with all our questions and she even went out of her way to translate for us when we needed help. She was also very welcoming and pleasant. The decor of the hotel is also a bit different from the standard decor that we see in other novotels, it was classy and cosy at the same time. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area again.

Very nice and easy to park

My husband booked this hotel as a treat for my birthday. Unfortunately, our ‘superior’ room was on the third floor-definitely not a treat when the stairs are extremely vertiginous, there is no lift, and the birthday you are hoping to celebrate in one piece is your 70th! The room was pleasant, with a pretty decor, beautiful fabric lined walls, and interesting vintage furniture, yet rather cramped. It wasn’t possible to fully open the bathroom door as the bed was in the way. This made the room slightly oppressive; a great pity when so much thought had clearly gone into other design features. Nonetheless, the bathroom was more spacious, as well as being modern, spotless and neat. Although it’s in a good location, I would recommend establishing which floor your room will be on before you book this hotel. Walking downstairs is a truly terrifying experience and I have no doubt there are much nicer rooms than the one we stayed in!

A simple but good place to stay overnight halfway from the Netherlands to the Dordogne Always found nice people to welcome us. Easy to find from freeway as well as Route Nationale. As we use this hotel only to sleep and have morning breakfast the small room with tiny bathroom fits us for one-night during the trip
