A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. We had a great stay at Hanamomiji. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet (I will be trying to recreate it the pumpkin salad at home!) and the delicious dinner. The public onsen was also a real highlight (with lots of different temp and outside and inside options, nice hair and face products and a super hot sauna), along with the snack and drink freebies in the lobby after 3pm. Our room was also huge. The private onsen we used wasn't as nice - next time I'd stick to the public one.

This onsen hotel is fantastic! Jozankei Onsen town is small, quiet, and not crowded. The dinner and breakfast plan (one night, two meals) we booked was excellent. Even though dinner was served in a communal setting, the quality was quite good. Breakfast was a buffet. You can also take a nice stroll around the area. The outdoor onsen is open for a long time, and the room was very comfortable. Overall, it offers great value for money.

The facilities are old, and the ceiling lamp is dim. The hotspring area is quite small but the one in hotel Shikanoyu which is larger is also available to use.

The check in was efficient, room decent with good ventilation. Dinner was the most disappointing part comparing with the breakfast. The private onsen is a surprise and lucky that I am able to book.

This is an older onsen (hot spring) with good service. We were able to check in around 2:30 PM as soon as our room was cleaned. The hotel's various facilities have set operating hours, so you need to plan accordingly. The afternoon tea at this onsen hotel features a variety of alcoholic beverages, along with some teas and soft drinks. Dinner was absolutely amazing; the kaiseki (traditional multi-course Japanese dinner) was quite rich and varied, and breakfast was also very good. After checking out at 10 AM, all the beverages and water in the 1F lobby were shut off. This wasn't a great experience, in my opinion. They should at least provide some water for guests. Futami Bridge is nearby, and the atmosphere is lovely. The biggest complaint is the breakfast time! Who wants to wake up that early for breakfast when they're on vacation? According to the front desk, meal times are assigned based on guests' arrival order. Sigh.

Hanamomiji is a clean and well-maintained ryokan with a very comfortable atmosphere. The Japanese style breakfast spread was thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. The onsen was clean, relaxing, and well cared for, making it a great place to unwind. Most of all, the staff were consistently courteous and attentive, which made the stay feel warm and welcoming. Overall, a pleasant and restful experience.

Everything was good for the stay, we had an early flight , didn’t manage to try on 4th floor onsen. the town itself don’t have many restaurant. There are only 2 ramen restaurant and both has a long queue.
