Sapporo Dormy Inn Hotel Guide

Sapporo is the capital city and administrative center of Hokkaido. It is the northernmost city in Japan that has a population of over one million. When in the city, visitors can head to the Sapporo Clock Tower, Odori Park for the Sapporo Snow Festival, the picturesque Mt. Moiwa and Hitujigaoka, and more.

Sapporo has four distinct seasons. Flowers bloom in the spring, and the leaves change color in the autumn, making both seasons popular for tourism. The region is known for being quite cold in the winter, and many visitors also come to see the snow. Some visitors also use Sapporo as a transit city to visit other cities in Hokkaido. As the urban area of the city is not large, two days is usually enough to see the main sites. If you are only visiting the city center, you can rely on the public transportation or simply walk. The Tanukikoji Shopping Street is a good place to buy things and get a taste of Japan’s famous ramen.

Within Sapporo, Susukino is known for its vibrant nightlife. In the winter, the Christmas market and lantern festival is also held at Odori Park. From JR Sapporo Station, visitors can travel by train to the New Chitose Airport and other cities in Hokkaido. Odori Station is a transportation hub in Sapporo and from it, can transfer to three subway lines. There are quite a few business hotels and express hotels in Sapporo’s city center.
