I booked this hotel 9 months in advance, immediately after which I cancelled because I recognized it too far from where we wanted to be in Santorini. I received no communication from the hotel - no confirmation, no cancellation, no receipt or notice when they charged my credit card the full amount a month later (6 months before the stay), and no notice when their non-refundable policy expired. When I finally received my first email days before the reservation, when I was already traveling internationally, I immediately responded that there must be some confusion. I was met with incredibly rude and antagonist responses that were shocking from a hotel of this type. I travel very frequently and stay at all levels of hotel and have never experienced this. When I pointed out that I could not produce the cancellation because they never sent me one, they insisted that I be fully charged. When I then pointed out that their taking of the full amount as deposit and refusal to accept even a 50% refund violated the Greek Tourist Protections, they responded that it was their policy to do so. They also said they expected to see me there and kept their rooms as unavailable on their website, even though I noted that reposting the room could mitigate the damages. The tone of their emails - exclamation points, all caps terms etc. was really just shocking. It ruined the part of my vacation spent trying to reason with them, in addition to the money I am currently disputing that they withdrew from my card. Book at your own risk - the practices do not conform to Greek standards (I am filing a complaint) and the tone was in stark contrast to the otherwise lovely staff we encountered at other hotels in Greece. Save your money and sanity and book elsewhere.
The Fisherman's House Santorini

Me and my gf after visiting Santorini quite a few summers in a row, we decided for this time to stay away, accommodation-wise, from the mainstream areas of the island where people are packed and there is constant noise from chattering and vehicles. Fisherman’s house helped us relax a lot with a nice and quiet night sleep and an rich breakfast on the second private balcony that the room had. The owner was occasionally passing by to help us organise our day by visiting some villages and recommended really good restaurants. The room was very clean, tidy with pretty nice decoration. If you are looking for relaxed and quiet vacations, at least while you are in the hotel, then this place is for you. Also it’s located very close from a few places where you can have an incredible view of the sunset. You don’t necessarily have to become a sandwich at Oia in order to get a glance of these truly unique views Santorini can offer. A car is definitely recommended for this location and parking open space was provided inside the hotel.

The property is located in a quiet spot on the southern side of the island. The view from there is magnificent, especially from the bedroom on the first floor in the morning or from the pool at sunset. The room has all the expected amenities and then some: a large jacuzzi for 2, a fully packed - and included - mini bar, a coffee and tea corner and a hairdryer. A bottle of wine was even waiting for us on arrival. Breakfast can be served in the room or at the bar by the pool and includes a wide variety of choices - who can resists these delicious pancakes? Or croissants? Or omelette? Or... Back to the location, obviously one will need a vehicle to visit the rest of the island - Fira is about 20 minutes away and Oia 45 minutes by car. Fortunately, Santorini offers a choice of cars, quads and scooters so there is a solution for each budget. We preferred Fira over Oia, but there are many other beautiful areas to visit also. The room was cleaned and tidied everyday to high standards and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Our guest offered a warm welcome when we arrived and even let us stay for coffee by the pool after we checked out - you don't see that in other hotels. In summary, Absolute Paradise must be one of the best hotels in Santorini. Paradise, absolutely.

Stayed here for one night transiting thru Santorini after staying on other islands. First stayed on Santorini 30 years ago and dismayed by over development - would not go there for a holiday now. Wanted to avoid Oia and Thira and this seemed a good option and better value for money. Other guests looked mostly liked couples / honeymooners looking somewhat bored - while we were happy to be away from the main towns this was perhaps a bit too isolated. Room was OK if a bit over the top in terms of decoration. The private cliff top pool was small, cold (in July) and ”privacy” was a low dividing wall from the next door pool that wasn't very private at all. Real let down was the food. Arrived mid afternoon to find restaurant / bar shut and not opening till 7pm. Couldn't even get a soft drink. There is one taverna across the road and that is the only thing remotely in walking distance - without a car you are a bit stranded. Fortunately the taverna turned out to be quite good. Breakfast the next morning in the now open restaurant was average at best. The views across the caldera are however very good and the main pool looked quite nice - though we didn't test it. Staff were friendly and transfers from ferry and then next day to airport were efficient. Not sure I would stay again - but was reasonable value on a very expensive island.

Booked 12 nights for me and my wife as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations. Communication with hotel and myself was excellent. Dimitra, went above and beyond to help me surprise my wife with flowers and champagne in our room, but also gave us an upgraded room which we were not expecting. The hotel has spectacular views of the Caldera, including Fira and Oia. These views can be appreciated from the pool area, restaurant and terrace. The room was lovely and fresh, with a very large double bed including all other amenities, iron, safe, air con etc... on occasions the bed was dressed in towel decorations, which really pleased my wife. The staff at Goulielmos Hotel, couldn't do enough for you, nothing was to much trouble. The food from breakfast to evening meal was delicious, even the poolside menu!! Due to covid, the breakfast was pre ordered the night before, you needed to be mindful not to order to much, felt guilty sending things back that we'd left, it's a balancing act for guest and hoteliers! On the mention of Covid, we couldn't fault the hotels attempt to keep everyone safe and all ares well sanitised. The hotel is just a short walk to Akrotiri village, here you'll find other restaurants to taste delicious Greek dishes. We would very much recommend the Goulielmos Hotel for a holiday in Santorini.
