Aegean Gem

My mom (74) and I (43) enjoyed this hotel so much we extended our stay in Santorini by two days, skipping another island all together. Nikolaos and Mary made us feel like we were part of the family. Of the 4 hotels we stayed in during our 10 day trip to Greece, this was hands down the cleanest, most comfortable, relaxed one we visited. Their location to shops and restaurants is a quick walk and while a rental car or scooter isn't needed, there are locations there where you can rent one. The breakfast served every morning was delicious and fresh, any kind of coffee you desire is available, fresh fruit, eggs, breakfast meat, just lovely. We spent one day just lounging by the pool recharging. They have a poolside bar where you can get drinks and snacks delivered to you poolside. The property does back up to a piece of land that is being built into what looks to be another hotel but it doesn't take away from the delightful location of this hotel. I will say that there is a rooster at a nearby house that is kind enough to let you know when it's time to get up. Oh and, there is a hot tub on every rooms patio.

Great family run business. Immediately felt welcoming by the staff. Rooms are super clean and beds really comfortable. Theres also a large amount of amenities such as shampoo, shower gel, moisturiser etc. The hotel is also a stones throw away from the main ***** and beach. A 5 min walk you'll be by the beach with tonnes of resuturants/bars which usually offer sundbeds if you purchase something. All in all, great stay and highly recommend.

If it were possible to rate more stars we would do as our stay in the Aegean gem was outstanding. We booked a last minute two night break and stayed in room 9. All the staff especially Nickolaos were incredibly friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble for them. We stopped in the Grace room which was tastefully decorated a good size and had a super outdoor space with the added bonus of the hot tub. Location was great, in the centre of Kamari close to all shops and restaurants, beach was 5 minute walk away. The breakfast was fresh with lots of choice. I would highly recommended this hotel and would love to return one day. Thank you Nickolaos and family for providing a lovely end to our holiday. Simon & Helen.

Had the most amazing week at this hotel with the best hosts!!! Nikolas and his family made us feel completely at home and they could not have been more accommodating. Nikolas was on hand everyday to help us with all our questions and requests. Simply outstanding guest service!! The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, with a modern, relaxing feel, a few minutes walk to the beach and town but secluded and quiet. The buffet breakfast was fresh and varied everyday with hot and cold choices, definitely not to be missed! I recommend opting for a room with a hot tub. It's a great way to relax after a long day sightseeing. Our room was beautifully decorated, with all modern amenities, a walk-in shower and very comfortable bed/pillows. I cannot recommend this beautiful boutique hotel enough and I look forward to returning.

I would highly recommend this special place: We are a family of 6 and stayed for two nights. The rooms were very tastefully decorated to a very high standard, were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Nicholas couldn’t have been more helpful. One of our family left his passport behind and he organised it to be sent to Athens free of charge.

We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at the Aegean Gem Hotel in Kamari, Santorini. The hotel is exactly as it says; a gem! From check in to check out Nikolas made us feel welcome. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink, and then shown to our suite. The Grace Suite was exactly as described. It had a modern sleek design. Equipped with all you could need for your stay (kettle, Nespresso machine, hairdryer, fridge, toiletries, USB charging ports, iron etc). AirCon in the room was excellent, and made the evenings very comfortable. Our suite also featured a sunbathing patio with a small pool. Although our pool was very warm, it was a really nice addition to the room, and a great alternative to the main pool or beach. The main pool was a perfect temperature to cool off during the heat of the day. The pool has around 8 comfortable sun beds to lay on, as well as additional table seating. Bar menu features a nice selection of food and drink at very reasonable prices. Breakfast could either be eaten on the sun terrace or around the pool. We opted for the sun terrace. There was a great selection of hot and cold food served (Greek yoghurt, toast, cereal, pastries etc). A great start to the day. Nikolas helped us with airport transfers and using the islands bus service. The bus service is fairly infrequent, and it is not possible to access most areas of the island by a direct bus. Airport transfers were very quick and easy, costing €25 each way. Thank you to everyone at the Aegean Gem for making our holiday to Santorini so special :)

Just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. One of the best I think I’ve ever been to. Modern sleek and clean throughout with everything you could need in the rooms. Only critiques are very small, shower power is a little weak if you have thick hair but nothing too bad, no full length mirror so had to use my front camera on phone and stand it up right and the amount of cats around! Everyday waking up we found cats on the terrace laying on our sunbeds and towels it was disgusting. I suppose it can’t be helped in Greece though. Other than this; the breakfast was a lovely light variety to set you up for a day in the sun, the pool area was stunning, very greek yet modern and minimalistic at the same time. All restaurants and shops of kamari are a 5 min walk away on the beach and Nikolas who owns and lives on-site is who made the holiday for us. So polite, sweet & helpful. I’m very pleased we chose this hotel on the island as some of the beachfront ones looked very tacky when we walked past them. We loved it so much we almost booked another night on the end of our holiday instead of flying home!

Great location, close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Quiet, clean, comfortable, great views of the hills and the ocean. Run by family, really nice and friendly. The only large shower I have seen in a Greek hotel. The shower is very modern and doesn't have a door but it is large.
