We had a lovely stay at the PDE Hotel during our first visit to Santander. The hotel looks basic from the outside but it's clean, quiet and we loved the location (the entrance is on a side alley just after the wee Arc), not from the bar on the main street!. The staff is very attentive, polite and helpful (we had a slight issue with the aircon which was resolved in no time!). The room was comfy, good size, lots of storage, bathroom was clean, generous size, nice shower. Again the staff was very good replenishing the room on a daily basis with toiletries and complementary water. Breakfast was downstairs in the bar: you only have a choice of a sweet and a savoury, coffee and a juice but the portions are generous. Any extra you would need to pay. We did not eat in the restaurant but the food seemed nice (plus you have a 10% discount if you stay in the hotel). Plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes nearby... spoiled for choices. Santander is lovely, definitely going back!

If you are looking for a simple pension close to the bus and train station this could be the place for you. The rooms are a bit worn but still functional. Good points are the location, good internet connection, ,plentiful hot water and friendly staff especially night porter who was very helpful on late arrival. However the problem here is the price /quality ratio don’t really stack up. I paid 60 euro for a single with no fridge or air conditioning and an internal window. There are no international TV channels and the carpet in the communal areas badly need replacing. I have at stayed in 3 and 4 star places with far superior facilities for a similar price on the same trip. Although Santander hotels admittedly overall seem more expensive . The walls (and ceilings) in the building are very thin and noise travels easily. During the week this was not so much of a problem but on Saturday night / Sunday morning more so.

Great experience at this centrally located hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful during the checkin process. The hostel is centrally located in Santander, and has a nice atmosphere inside. There is plentiful space to hang out and work, with great kitchen facilities and also a vending machine and coffee machine for guest use. The hostel was very clean, and the bunks had privacy dividers which I personally find very valuable for a good nights sleep. Overall I would definitely recommend this location to family and friends!!

The room is very small, some rooms can't find wifi or even no signal. The phone has been no service. My room is no light on the patio. It doesn't look like living in a cave. It's not ventilated. It's boring. Some rooms look like patios. Spain's soundproofing is poor but this place. The noise is very bad next door, what do I listen to clearly?
