This hotel has some really lovely aspects, first being the seafront location. It really is beautiful and most rooms seem to take advantage of the view with the balconies looking out to the sea. The food here is lovely. Fresh, varied and different themes each night including Indian, Asian and Mexican. Plenty to choose from for fussy little ones too, always pasta, pizza, chips etc. The negative with the restaurant is the queuing, especially at dinner. When going when the restaurant opened at 6.30 for food, the queue was around the restaurant to get to the buffet, go down for dinner after 6.30 and the queue is around the bar to wait for a table. We waited 20 minutes for a table on one night which, with a 1 and 6 year old, was not ideal. The restaurant staff work incredibly hard and turn tables around as fast as they are able, the restaurant just isn't big enough when the hotel is at full occupancy. The hotel is pretty clean throughout, rooms serviced daily as you would expect. Some of the communal spaces such as the corridors were a little less well kept but that wasn't an issue to us really. The rooms are comfortable enough, if a little dated. Despite paying for a room upgrade we were given a pretty basic and small room for four of us, which was a disappointment. The pool area is nice, though was mostly shaded due to the time of year but this was to be expected. The pools were also cold but again down to the time of year and expected. Part of the reason we chose this hotel was to make use of the heated, indoor pool on colder or wet days. Sadly the pool is neither indoor nor heated. The pool is in a covered terrace with sunbeds but the pools itself was no warmer than the unheated, outdoor ones. We didn't see the main evening entertainment due to having our young children with us but we did se the mini disco most evenings and we really enjoyed it. Familiar songs but a different playlist each night so that it wasn't too samey. Despite the hotel being due to close on the day we left (Sunday), most facilities including the children's pool were closed or being closed the day before (Saturday). Lots of sunbeds had been taken in and the pool bar was closed. It left us feeling like we didn't really have a lot of options for things to do and our balcony was shaded and so not really where we wanted to be on a sunny (though windy) afternoon. We have stayed with Fergus before and would probably stay within the Group again in future but sadly wouldn't return here.
