HR Training Needed The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, clean and has a great location (close enough to attractions, but far enough for some serenity). Common spaces and room are tasteful. Price point is agreeable. The check in staff was kind, helpful and accommodated our early check in as well offered local suggestions. I travel often on business and pleasure and have always enjoyed my stay at Sheratons around the world. We've had family banquets and have come to appreciate a high level of service at a Sheraton property. The Scotts Valley location fell far short because of one unprofessional, dismissive and rude staff member. All was well until it came to how the night staff handled noisy neighbors. It was 11pm on a Sat night. I heard a lot of chatter and boisterous laughs. It got LOUDER and woke up my kids. I called the front desk thinking it might be upstairs or next door. 10 min later a loud speaker comes on and the music is clearly audible and the bass vibates our shared wall. I hear several groups passing our 2 rooms in the hall and knocking on the door which opens and slams shut several times with ”Where's the party?” Lots of noise, yelling and expletives. Again I call and this time I say it's next door. Hotel staff warns them they are being too loud. At 11:40 the party gets LOUDER still. I decide to go downstairs myself to voice my concern and discuss any resolutions. The man on duty says you just called and I just talked to them 2 min ago. It was well longer than that. He was very curt and dismissive. When I expressed myself, he asked tersely and under his breath,” Do you want me to call them again? You know I can't make them do anything.” I asked for a transfer and asked who I may contact to address the current issue and compensation. He shrugs, ”We're booked.” I said ”Don't' you have an occupancy limit and do you enforce quiet hours?” He looked very bothered and irritable. He gave me his general manager's card and said he would be available Monday. He hardly let me get any words out. He exasperatedly said ” We're not getting anywhere going back and forth. You just want someone to yell at so I'm gonna get em for you.” He walks off towards the stairs. I feel afraid knowing there are a lot of people in the room next to mine and my children, likely intoxicated. I called the police department. By this time it was midnight. When he realized what I was doing he started jeering at me and interjecting. Calling me ridiculous. Saying how would I feel if he called my boss. I represent my place of work well as a professional and would have no issue with them seeing this review- so I said go ahead and he rolled his eyes. Then he yelled ”So you're going to call them for me doing my job? Oh, and YOU'RE GONNA GET THE BOOT!” Wow. I never raised my voice and he was being not only unhelpful but disrespectful to me. While I was waiting for the police, he came down the stairs and nastily and tauntingly said the party's broken up now you can get

Nicely renovated, very stylish and clean hotel. Pool and pool bar are very cool. Dogs of any size are welcomed (treats provided during Friday afternoon complimentary wine time in lobby - nice tough on both counts!!). Complimentary morning coffee is also available in the lobby. Hotel staff were terrific - friendly, professional and efficient! Late 2 pm checkout (Bonvoy Gold) request was honored, even though hotel was fully booked. Temporary booking, the hotel location is by the sea, breakfast is very simple, starting at 8 o'clock. The room is much larger than the one introduced and also offers a folding single bed, although not required. Can't burn hot water, the front desk said that you can go to microwave heating, only when breakfast.

Stayed 1 night during road trip. Rooms were comfy and clean. Was in room 104, ground floor close to the vending machines. No issues. Slept well. A/c worked great and staff was friendly. For the price and quality it was comfortable for what it was. Had a car and drove around rather than walked but everything was so closeby. The beach, Trader Joe’s and target were all 5 min. away and 20 min. from nearby redwood park. Would recommend. Breakfast was very bare but had the Activia yogurt and some packaged baked goods.

GGuest User 2022.09.18
We stayed at the Seacliff Inn when it was a Best Western. I made my reservations last spring before it was a Hilton but was curious to see what changes were made as a result. As I did not make my reservations through Hilton and it was made quite clear to me my Hilton Honors standing had no meaning here, not even the usual welcome bottle of water and it took several tries for my no-cost internet connection; it kept prompting me to pay for internet or join Hilton Honors. Had I made reservations through the Hilton Honors website, things may have been different. The exterior is being painted from a deep brown with blue trim to a grayish color with blue trim. The restaurant has changed its name and the interior decor is now very sp**** and severe. The outdoor dining is still very nice. The gardens are well kept and the outdoor dining area is next to a lovely pond and waterfall. I ate at the restaurant once for dinner and once for lunch, service and food were very good. I honestly do not remember the front desk area before but it is very nicely appointed with some seating, the desk staff have all been helpful and pleasant during my stay. They removed the laundry facilities but do not offer clothes cleaning services. The amenities are mixed, no shower cap or body wash and only one bar of soap for both the tub and sink, but good Starbucks coffee for the in-room coffee maker, a little refrigerator, and a large TV. Internet has gone out several times during my stay, which unfortunately wipes out the Television as well. It may just be my provider, but cell coverage is little to none so when the internet goes out I cannot even use my phone as a hotspot. There were no elevators when it was a Best Western and there still are no elevators to the second floor rooms, not sure if that is in the plans for updating the property but there are 6 separate buildings so that may not be in the immediate plans. The corridors and doors can be loud, on a busy weekend night that can be disruptive as people are more likely to boisterously wander the halls at all hours. Again, not sure if some mitigation for noise is in the works for future plans. As if making a war on comfort, they removed the comfortable chairs from the rooms and put in a stool and an extremely uncomfortable chair at the desk. The furnishings were replaced and look very utilitarian but are quite functional. I don’t think they replaced the beds, there are two in the room and both very firm. The bedding is nice and up to the usual Hilton standards. I was surprised to find out that they are charging for parking, although it is completely unsecured. I was told I could get cleaning every 4 days, but only if I called to schedule it. I have been catching cleaners in the hallway to exchange towels and refill supplies and the front desk has been helpful too. The heating/cooling system is still the old motel style wall unit. It had signage that the unit was controlled by the wall thermostat. It wasn’t, I needed

Breakfast is a very simple cold meal, placed on a small table in the lobby, only boxed cereals with yogurt, apples, snacks or something. It's better to go to the cafe to eat hot. Room air conditioners and refrigerators are noisy enough to affect sleep. There is a parking lot. The location is very good, opposite the large lawn of high school, very close to downtown. When checking in, you must ask for a room with a balcony. Otherwise the window is very small, as long as you stay, you will not change rooms.

We were traveling up the coast and stayed and were impressed with the staff and area. The lady at the front desk.. I believe her name was Shari.. was so helpful!! She gave us some great dinner location suggestions, gave us directions to the nearby beach (where we saw dolphins!) and offered great customer service overall! There was a grocery store across the street, gas station in walking distance, and a target right up the road. The room was big enough for all six of us adults. The breakfast was good. Very happy with our stay.

GGuest UserMy first Fairfield experience for just one night using my Platinum status with Marriott. The check-in was very pleasant and the staff on duty were indeed very nice and hospitable. Room was nice and spacious which made the family feel happy. Appreciated a bath tub in our 2 Queen Room. Parking was in a gated covered garage which felt very safe and secure. Loved the experience at the pool. Was a good size and very clean. Hot tub was a plus point. Gym was small but function for just a short stay. Breakfast the next morning was great. Exceed my expectations and they even had waffles!! Overall, a very good experience and would come back again in future.

GGuest UserWaiting in line for coffee was an annoyance but still didn’t diminish the luxury feel of my stay. The largest inconvenience was the gates after 10. My first time someone was waiting there right away, but the second time I had to exit my vehicle and call from the buzzer to no answer. I only got voicemail. Eventually got in, but I was very uncomfortable in that dark area by myself, and it took long enough for someone else to pull in behind me. I appreciated the super convenient filtered water and laundry amenities that I wish were standard everywhere. I asked for a printed receipt, but their printer was down and they assured me I’d get an email, which I haven’t. Trip.com does not seem to have registered that I completed my stay, so there is something iffy among their booking and trip.com’s ledger.

GGnochebuenaNever had to write this bad of a review. Terrible experience for the what I spent on. First front reception impression was bad. 2 receptionists, one on the phone helping a lady with an issue. She seemed very stressed. The gentleman helping the rest of us making a line. When it was my turn, my card wouldnt go through. When the lady receptionist was done with the call she seemed like she was about to get a mental breakdown. He then decided to try my card on her side and was successfully processed. He didn’t explain or gave me any instructions about the key. Key needed to work the elevators and power in the rooms I had to figure it out on my own. He Didn’t offer or explained parking, I went back after we unloaded our stuff drove around and found out there was no place to park. The receptionist pretty much just processed my card. I stayed 3 nights and no one went into my room to take trash or pick up the dirty towels. Only thing they did was put a set of clean towels the night before my check out day and that’s about it. I was given an accessible room. I did not ask for one. A light on a night stand were unplugged. Found multiple lotto tickets inside the pull out bed. Toilet paper handle was broken. By the way…..what kind of bar closes at 8? The bartender didn’t seem professional or welcoming. When checking out I was asked how I wanted my receipt. On paper or email. I told her I rather get an email. I checked out around 8am and it’s 435pm and I haven’t received my email. The only people I will say were amazing at their job were the valet guys. They were friendly, helpful and did their job.

Wwolfsong88We had an excellent stay! We live in Silicon Valley and go to Santa Cruz all the time. Occasionally we stay overnight. We have tried a few places and I loved Ocean Pacific Lodge. I booked a room with two king beds and didn't realize that it was two rooms with a king bed in each room as well as a tv in each room. The bathroom and sink area separated the two rooms. This was a delightful surprise as I had forgotten my earplugs and my husband's snoring usually has us in two separate rooms due to lack of sleep on my part! The hotel actually had cute little bags in the bedrooms with earplugs so I might have been okay. The toiletries could have been a little better with shampoo and conditioner. There were shower caps, soap, shower gel, lotion. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi as well as a shower stall and toilet. The sink area was outside of the bathroom which is always convenient when he is showering and I am trying to put on makeup. The room(s) were clean and everything worked. It was quiet. The beds were super comfortable. We went to sleep with me watching what I wanted on my tv and him in the other room enjoying the whole bed to himself watching what he wanted on tv. It was a great stay and it will definitely be the place we go to each overnight getaway we do. Some people I read complained about it being slightly outdated and overpriced. That is ANY coastal town for the most part. You are going to pay for the location. Santa Cruz is full of motels and inns. Everything is overpiced and for the most part, everything looks like it needs a major facelift. Ocean Pacific Lodge is in a fantastic location as it's a short walk to the wharf and boardwalk and a short walk downtown. You are in a good middle place that feels safe. It's easy to find and to get in and out of. Highly recommend.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this facility on March 10, originally with the intention of staying for one night only. The following morning, we decided to stay on for an additional evening. I went down to the desk at 11:10am on March 11, and the young woman behind the counter said that we should have informed them of our intentions ten minutes earlier (before check-out time at 11:00) and that as a result she could not offer us the room we were in. I asked her why, since the hotel seemed to me to be largely empty. In fact, during our conversation, she mentioned that there were only twenty new bookings for that evening. She then said that we needed to leave because the room needed to be cleaned, even though I assured her that we did not need it to be cleaned. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said that the supervisor was “on lunch” and again insisted that we leave the room. I told her that we would not leave the room until she clarified with her supervisor whether we could stay in the same room. She called her supervisor who said that it would, in fact, be possible to stay in the same room. I asked the young woman if she needed anything further, and I was then told that everything had been arranged, and we were all set for the additional night. At 1:25pm that afternoon, we received a phone call from a new supervisor -evidently after a shift change- who said that we needed to immediately check out of the room we were in. I said that our stay had been cleared with the previous supervisor. She said that she was the supervisor now, and therefore we had to leave. I said that I would not leave until she communicated with the earlier supervisor about the misunderstanding. She said that if we did not check out of the room, she would call the police who would arrive in 10 minutes. We promptly packed our belongings and gave our key cards to the front desk. Later that afternoon, the IHG (as well as Booking.com and Expedia) website advertised availability for that night of the type of room we had just vacated. All that needs to be added to this strange narrative is that we are IHG members, and have never such a bad experience in any of our stays at an IHG hotel.

GGuest UserVery expensive for what it is. The location by the beach must be the justification of the price but no seaview. The rooms and bathrooms are basic, no complimentary bottled water like other hotels and the beds are very soft. The staff weren't welcoming eg they didn't even mention breakfast was included and we had to ask where it was located in the morning. You could easily not realise it is included. The breakfast was ok; sausages, scrambled eggs, waffles you make yourself (best bit), porridge, ceraels, sliced bread to toast. Free parking. No lift if on upper storey of the two levels. Pool ok but no towels available when we used it. The location has one bar/restaurant in walking distance and a little convenience store. Overall the stay was ok but don't feel the hotel is priced appropriately.

GGuest UserAs I write this review I’ve given myself lots of time to mull over my family’s most recent visit to this Hilton. Here goes, at just after 11:00 pm on a Friday night my wife and retriever arrive to wait to be checked in as the one clerk was helping another guest. The hotel clerk took my name, and credit card, and checked me in, although she didn’t initially bill me for the dog, as she stated “oh you have a pet?”. I said “yes does it not show this in the reservation? She said yes you are on the 5th floor, and asked me again to bill the pet fee, which is a cost of $100.00. Now I already learned this only after I booked this through Priceline. Meaning I paid for my hotel, and only after learned I had to fork over another $100.00, for my retriever. This is one of several times I’ve stayed at this Hilton, at least 3 or 4 times. First with out dog however. Having stayed at this Hotel before they always extended a $30. Credit at the hotel, either bar, restaurant or snack shop. I mention this as I called before I got to the hotel, before I checked in, and spoke with the desk who advised me, I didn’t ask, they told me to ask for Jeremy who wasn’t available at that time, but to ask upon check in if I could use this credit towards the dog fee. I mentioned this to the Hotel clerk, and asked if Jerry was in? She said no, he wasn’t in and that she couldn’t apply any credit and because I booked through Priceline, I wouldn’t be receiving any credit at all. At this point another women appears, and proceeds to tell me “I am very misogynistic“. I asked her “why she felt this way?” She replied I was speaking down to the clerk and being dismissive” she says this while walking away from me. The alarm i didn’t set went off at 6:00 am, tiny little alarm. It would be nice if housekeeping would check, I didn’t. I did go down and meet with Jerry, the next morning, this whole event, from checkin to checkout was eight hours. And nearly $400. I advised Jerry of what transpired, he essentially shrugged his shoulders and confirmed that no credit for this Hilton honors member was correct and that the $100. Fee was not a big deal. Take aways, last time I will stay at this hotel. The next night I was at the Hampton in Oakland and the experience was beautiful. So many other hotels/motels in Santa Cruz that charge between $20-50. for rover. Keep looking, save some money for the nice businesses in Scotts Valley like the Heavenly Roadside Cafe! They were amazing to me and my dog. Didn’t charge extra to do it either. They didn’t call me names either!

I booked a series of rooms for my family. Though we got some rooms a little before normal check in because we had an event to go to we had to wait for the others after. The people Working there seemed to only tolerate the guests and did not seem to communicate well with us or their own staff. The parking is horrendous! Getting in and out is tight and they kept telling different guests different things. They have “double parking” spaces but double booked cars in them. This caused much confusion and chaos. The rooms are fine, some updates, particularly in the bathroom. The beds were good and they have full cable. It is not a quiet place but with proximity to Boardwalk is what many probably find appealing. We had just checked out of one of the rooms and forgot the food in the fridge. When we went back in they had already thrown it away. The staff were extremely rude and the price for the hotel was way way too much. Not worth what was being offered. The breakfast ran out of items quickly and staff did not seem to care about replenishing. Would not recommend this hotel, especially when there are so many others to choose from.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff are very proactive, kind, and extremely responsive. Their customer service is outstanding. They went above and beyond to help me enjoy my stay. The hotel amenities are exactly what I was looking for. It’s a nice place to stay with the family because of updated kitchen and cleanliness.
