Seacliff Inn Aptos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
4.2/5112 Reviews
Excellent stay and exactly what I expected from a Tapestry. The renovation of this property is well done and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. I had a great time at the restaurant, especially for breakfast. Room service? Wonderful. And yes - they do have silverware. Some people are expecting a Waldorf Astoria. I just expected a good, clean, comfortable stay. I got more than what I was expecting.
Four Points by Sheraton Santa Cruz Scotts Valley

HR Training Needed The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, clean and has a great location (close enough to attractions, but far enough for some serenity). Common spaces and room are tasteful. Price point is agreeable. The check in staff was kind, helpful and accommodated our early check in as well offered local suggestions. I travel often on business and pleasure and have always enjoyed my stay at Sheratons around the world. We've had family banquets and have come to appreciate a high level of service at a Sheraton property. The Scotts Valley location fell far short because of one unprofessional, dismissive and rude staff member. All was well until it came to how the night staff handled noisy neighbors. It was 11pm on a Sat night. I heard a lot of chatter and boisterous laughs. It got LOUDER and woke up my kids. I called the front desk thinking it might be upstairs or next door. 10 min later a loud speaker comes on and the music is clearly audible and the bass vibates our shared wall. I hear several groups passing our 2 rooms in the hall and knocking on the door which opens and slams shut several times with ”Where's the party?” Lots of noise, yelling and expletives. Again I call and this time I say it's next door. Hotel staff warns them they are being too loud. At 11:40 the party gets LOUDER still. I decide to go downstairs myself to voice my concern and discuss any resolutions. The man on duty says you just called and I just talked to them 2 min ago. It was well longer than that. He was very curt and dismissive. When I expressed myself, he asked tersely and under his breath,” Do you want me to call them again? You know I can't make them do anything.” I asked for a transfer and asked who I may contact to address the current issue and compensation. He shrugs, ”We're booked.” I said ”Don't' you have an occupancy limit and do you enforce quiet hours?” He looked very bothered and irritable. He gave me his general manager's card and said he would be available Monday. He hardly let me get any words out. He exasperatedly said ” We're not getting anywhere going back and forth. You just want someone to yell at so I'm gonna get em for you.” He walks off towards the stairs. I feel afraid knowing there are a lot of people in the room next to mine and my children, likely intoxicated. I called the police department. By this time it was midnight. When he realized what I was doing he started jeering at me and interjecting. Calling me ridiculous. Saying how would I feel if he called my boss. I represent my place of work well as a professional and would have no issue with them seeing this review- so I said go ahead and he rolled his eyes. Then he yelled ”So you're going to call them for me doing my job? Oh, and YOU'RE GONNA GET THE BOOT!” Wow. I never raised my voice and he was being not only unhelpful but disrespectful to me. While I was waiting for the police, he came down the stairs and nastily and tauntingly said the party's broken up now you can get
Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley

As I write this review I’ve given myself lots of time to mull over my family’s most recent visit to this Hilton. Here goes, at just after 11:00 pm on a Friday night my wife and retriever arrive to wait to be checked in as the one clerk was helping another guest. The hotel clerk took my name, and credit card, and checked me in, although she didn’t initially bill me for the dog, as she stated “oh you have a pet?”. I said “yes does it not show this in the reservation? She said yes you are on the 5th floor, and asked me again to bill the pet fee, which is a cost of $100.00. Now I already learned this only after I booked this through Priceline. Meaning I paid for my hotel, and only after learned I had to fork over another $100.00, for my retriever. This is one of several times I’ve stayed at this Hilton, at least 3 or 4 times. First with out dog however. Having stayed at this Hotel before they always extended a $30. Credit at the hotel, either bar, restaurant or snack shop. I mention this as I called before I got to the hotel, before I checked in, and spoke with the desk who advised me, I didn’t ask, they told me to ask for Jeremy who wasn’t available at that time, but to ask upon check in if I could use this credit towards the dog fee. I mentioned this to the Hotel clerk, and asked if Jerry was in? She said no, he wasn’t in and that she couldn’t apply any credit and because I booked through Priceline, I wouldn’t be receiving any credit at all. At this point another women appears, and proceeds to tell me “I am very misogynistic“. I asked her “why she felt this way?” She replied I was speaking down to the clerk and being dismissive” she says this while walking away from me. The alarm i didn’t set went off at 6:00 am, tiny little alarm. It would be nice if housekeeping would check, I didn’t. I did go down and meet with Jerry, the next morning, this whole event, from checkin to checkout was eight hours. And nearly $400. I advised Jerry of what transpired, he essentially shrugged his shoulders and confirmed that no credit for this Hilton honors member was correct and that the $100. Fee was not a big deal. Take aways, last time I will stay at this hotel. The next night I was at the Hampton in Oakland and the experience was beautiful. So many other hotels/motels in Santa Cruz that charge between $20-50. for rover. Keep looking, save some money for the nice businesses in Scotts Valley like the Heavenly Roadside Cafe! They were amazing to me and my dog. Didn’t charge extra to do it either. They didn’t call me names either!
Casablanca Inn on the Beach

Average accommodations... average all around the board, with the exceptions of the view, which was slightly above average. The construction going on across the street evened out the above average score of the view. The dog walk was a sawed off gravel boche ball pit with a shovel and rusted out garbage...but at least they are dog friendly. At night you can hear the crashing of the waves ever so slightly drowned out by the sounds of transients singing (and smoking) jimmy Crack corn....but at least you don't have to pay for the show. Unfortunately you do have to pay for the room which was way overpriced (and undersized) for what you get. The location, however, is perfect if you want to be close to restaurants and the boardwalk.
Hyatt Place Santa Cruz

Just in Santa Cruz, not far from the beach, the important thing is that there is a more authentic Chinese restaurant next to it. The room is bright and clean. The breakfast is average. If you park, it costs 15 dollars a day. You have to give the car key to the front desk to help you park.

Never had to write this bad of a review. Terrible experience for the what I spent on. First front reception impression was bad. 2 receptionists, one on the phone helping a lady with an issue. She seemed very stressed. The gentleman helping the rest of us making a line. When it was my turn, my card wouldnt go through. When the lady receptionist was done with the call she seemed like she was about to get a mental breakdown. He then decided to try my card on her side and was successfully processed. He didn’t explain or gave me any instructions about the key. Key needed to work the elevators and power in the rooms I had to figure it out on my own. He Didn’t offer or explained parking, I went back after we unloaded our stuff drove around and found out there was no place to park. The receptionist pretty much just processed my card. I stayed 3 nights and no one went into my room to take trash or pick up the dirty towels. Only thing they did was put a set of clean towels the night before my check out day and that’s about it. I was given an accessible room. I did not ask for one. A light on a night stand were unplugged. Found multiple lotto tickets inside the pull out bed. Toilet paper handle was broken. By the way…..what kind of bar closes at 8? The bartender didn’t seem professional or welcoming. When checking out I was asked how I wanted my receipt. On paper or email. I told her I rather get an email. I checked out around 8am and it’s 435pm and I haven’t received my email. The only people I will say were amazing at their job were the valet guys. They were friendly, helpful and did their job.
