Powell Place

We booked this through air bnb and was extremely happy with it. Good size rooms, which are very clean and comfortable. Read the local information book left in the room, its very detailed and helpful. The location is perfect and even better if you have a cable car pass as it drops off outside the front door.

This resort on Nob Hill is right on the cable car route providing easy access to transportation. Several restaurants within walking distance downhill, but a challenging climb back if you're out of shape. The historic architecture in the lobby, staircase and our room was beautiful. Our room was nicely appointed with everything one needs and an abundance of storage space. The live rose in a bud vase, along with 2 yummy chocolates was a nice touch.

This is a comfortable and spacious apartment in a terrific location on Powell Street, between California and Pine Streets. We arrived early in the morning after a 13-hour flight from Australia and we were so grateful that we were allowed to check-in!! There are 2 historic cable car stops just a few minutes’ walk away – you can get off at California Street to walk down to the hotel and walk down to Pine Street to get on. The front desk and housekeeping staff are friendly and the apartment is well equipped with a small kitchenette, 2 TVs, good WiFi and a super comfortable king bed. We loved the old-world décor and courteous customer service – newspaper delivered to your door every morning! The fresh rose in our room was lovely. This is highly recommended!

This lovely San Francisco venue was a wonderful location to home base and do all the San Francisco experiences. Street car right outside, many SF adventures within walking distance. We loved our week long stay.

A half a block to the rest of the city! Superb location with the cable car and bus stops half a block away. Self serve laundry is 2 blocks away. Mini mart is 1 block away. The unit was generous in size. The furnishings were a bit dated but well maintained. The lack of sunshine in the windows was a bit depressing by the end of the week. The windows gave you a view of the next building's paint job. No housekeeping during Covid, but they will do a towel exchange as often as you request.

For visiting a happening city like San Francisco, this offers a great location with small, older but reasonably well-maintained "apartment" units. No lobby or common spaces, though. Also, the steep hills are a challenge (in this entire Nob Hill part of the city).
