The Beau Hotel Downtown San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

I chose this hotel because it was renovated 25 years ago and is in downtown, but... 1. It's an old building, and the rooms have portable air conditioners. They're noisy when on and hot when off, which isn't something the staff can fix. 2. The interior is clean and tidy, but it's small, with only a tiny table and no chair. 3. The external environment is even worse. Unless you're an exceptionally heavy sleeper, don't choose this place. The street below is still noisy in the early hours of the morning, with screaming men and women, and cars roaring past with their engines revving and music blasting. In short, if you want a good night's rest, this place is definitely not for you.

I really liked the hotel! It's located in the Gaslamp District, about a 10-minute walk to the Gaslamp sign. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby! It's a bit noisy in the evenings and at night. We checked in an hour early, thanks to the lovely receptionist! Upon check-in, they gave me a $25 food coupon, so the next day, a hearty and delicious breakfast at their restaurant on the first floor cost me only $4!! The room itself was clean, with a small window and a portable air conditioner (with a pipe running out the window). The sink drain in my room didn't work, but they replaced it right away, and I think I got a more spacious one on the 3rd floor. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the reception staff is very helpful with luggage; there's even a special button by the stairs to call a staff member. On the 2nd floor, there's a "secret garden"—an outdoor veranda with tables and seats. There are also coffee machines, a large selection of teas, and ice cream, all free. I loved the hotel's style—so understated, classic, and vintage. After all, the hotel is located in a historic building. I definitely recommend it!

The room was very small and there was no elevator. The front desk maliciously overcharged the room, and despite multiple attempts to contact them, they refused to refund the money. It took over a month to get the refund. Terrible! Extremely bad!
