Hotel Contessa - Suites on the Riverwalk

Nice hotel, everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding, right on the Riverwalk! The rooftop pool and hot tub are wonderful. We enjoyed the restaurant/bar at the hotel, drinks were good and the food was too. Make sure to have a sticky bun for breakfast! mmmm If you are looking for a nice hotel on the Riverwalk - stay here you won't regret it.

The Space: Huge rooms with a very open, airy feel. The Location: A+ access. There’s a door behind the bar that leads straight to the Riverwalk, and you can easily walk to The Alamo. Parking: Valet is available, but there are cheaper public lots within a block or two. Food/Drink: No need to wander far for a good meal; the on-site restaurant and bar are great.

The hotel looks very nice and smells very nice. I loved the "spa smell" when I first walked into the hotel. We were given a credit voucher for $15 when we checked in so that gave us a free lava cake dessert on the patio. Our room had a very nice view of the Riverwalk. We were also given a late checkout which was much appreciated.

The hotel itself is very nice, and the valet and bellhop staff were exceptionally friendly. The location is excellent, right on the Riverwalk, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure; however, if you’re tall, the shower head placement is not ideal—my husband is 5’10” and had to duck to use it. We would consider staying again, but on our last morning the toilet clogged and overflowed onto the floor. This was frustrating, especially since very little toilet paper had been used. Most people would consider a toilet overflow an urgent issue that requires immediate attention. We called for assistance, but no one ever came. It seemed as though staff assumed they could wait since we had a couple of hours before checkout, which was disappointing. As a result, my husband had to go to the ground floor to use the restroom, and we had to navigate around toilet water on the bathroom floor while getting ready.
