Sol Caribe Campo All Inclusive

Location & Views: The hotel is praised for its scenic, hillside location with panoramic ocean views and a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere.

Food isn’t great,do yourself a favor and do the reservations for the Italian restaurant it’s better.

Realize you are on an island lost in time. American standard quality simply is not there. I wanted to give this place a 1 star at first. but in the end I nearly opted 5. In the end the food drove it down. The island is full of run down hotels and houses and places long past their prime. The famous ***** of beach in the center is over crowded and only one decent place to eat and sleep. The Sol Carib Campo is an easy 15 minute drive from that craziness. The hotel is like a park carved out of a side of a hill in the jungle. It is slightly dated but you have to appreciate how hard they are trying. The staff is clearly well trained (try to get in or get served without a mask - a friendly but stern reminder will be given). There is no trash anywhere ans people seem to be constantly cleaning and making improvements (can not say that for most of the island). The rooms are older but extremely comfortable bed. Water is warm. It is true there is an odd smell to the water. It's the high surpher content in the local drinking water bot sewage. The front staff is friendly but a little slow to check in - no real issue. The beach is on but honestly a lot cleaner than any other beach around. The pools are all nice especially the main pool. Note bring hood shoes you will be hiking up ans down the hills and stairs a lot. I mean a lot! The main draw back is the food - it's about the same quality as my kids get when they go to summer camp. Nothing bad or harmful but meh. The views - some of the best around In the end my family agrees it would be our first pick of / when we return
