The biggest downside was being able to hear my neighbor showering and, well, passing gas. He'd start his routine around 6 AM and finish by noon. Everything else was fine.

Hotel Old City Samarkand is a really nice option for solo travelers, offering a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. The only drawback is the riad-style layout where windows face an interior courtyard, which unfortunately results in very limited natural sunlight. Aside from the dim lighting, the stay was comfortable and the hotel's overall quality made for a solid experience.

Our home away from home. It for me is one of the best places to stay in Samarkand. Our host Zafar was the kindest person. If I could I'd live here. Thank you for making my wife and I's stay here so memorable.

The hotel is in the middle of major tour sites. You can m walk or take a taxi to get there easily. The room was cleaned and the receptionist always welcomes you.

This hotel is walking distance from the Sha-i-Zinda Complex. Size of my room was perfect for solo traveler.

Everything was simply wonderful. The breakfast was hearty, delicious, and always fresh. The staff were responsive and polite, and the room was always clean. There's a bus stop and a shopping center nearby, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the historic old town. Highly recommend!
