My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely, intimate (only six guest rooms) chateau for three nights. Owners Melanie and Laurant, as well as their entire staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The chateau is a delight, beautifully renovated and filled with sophisticated, eclectic items collected by Laurant from the surrounding area. We had dinner there one night. It was absolutely superb, beautifully presented and prepared. Another night, our last, a rainy Sunday evening, we stayed in. Melanie kindly prepared a luscious plate of charcuterie and fromage with lettuces from the garden and, of course, a fabulous bottle of wine. We biked in the area on road bikes we had rented in Bordeaux and arranged for their delivery.

We stayed for two nights. Everything about this place was wonderful. The host, the dinner, the wine and, (of course) the dog. Our room was lovely. They made a delicious home made dinner and their wine is delicious. Vineyards as far as the eye can see. Highly recommended.

What an amazing stay. A homely sanctuary away perfection for relaxing and enjoying the region. Melanie was an incredible host, with recommendations, tasting bookings, organizing taxis and even cooking breakfast! The house is an amazing place to experience with so much to enjoy and take in. The pool was a great place to start each day and the grounds are beautiful. Couldn’t fault it. At all.

We stayed at this beautiful property last week for 3 nights. Everything was phenomenal, and I highly suggest staying here if you want a tranquil and relaxing stay, while still being close to St. Emilion. The property is lovely. We were in Suite Vignoble, which had a beautiful view of the back vineyards and a hot tub on the patio. The pool is a nice break and the spa services were excellent. The food was outstanding. Breakfast each morning was delicious, but we were truly amazed by the restaurant-quality food and wine list when we ate dinner at the property. Melanie was so helpful with arranging everything we needed. She gave us the contact for a local driver, who ended up being extremely helpful with our train station transfers and bringing us to and from dinners in town. Melanie arranged a full day Medoc wine tour with an amazing guide Kim. The next day she arranged an e-bike rental for us so that we could tour some of the local wineries/area. Can’t wait to return one day!!

We loved our stay here. Everything is done tastefully and the chateau is perfect set in vines where the only thing you can hear is birdsong. Amazing breakfast and we ate once for dinner which again was perfect. Highly recommend for a place to stay a mere stones throw from St Emillion.

Wonderful stay at Chateau Du Palanquey! We enjoyed our stay so very much. The hosts, Melanie and Laurent, are very pleasant and their English is excellent. We happened to be the only guests for 3 nights, so our stay was peaceful. Melanie recommended some excellent tours of vineyards in Saint Emilion as well as fantastic restaurants. Our favorite restaurant was Tertre in St. Emilion; a small, romantic restaurant with excellent food and service. We then traveled to Bordeaux, where Melanie connected us with Bruno Beurrier for a city tour. Bruno is a mush have guide for the city of Bordeaux! He is witty, animated, knowledgeable, and fun to spend time with learning about the history of Bordeaux.

Our stay at Chateau du Palanquey was absolutely wonderful! Our rooms, private jacuzzi, heated pool, spacious common areas (entertaining games/books and artwork) and lovely views were the perfect balance to a busy day of touring the area. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Our dinner was SUPERB! Cold zucchini and mint soup, duck breast with veggies and creme brulee finish was the best meal we had in all our travels through Paris, Bordeaux and St. Emilion. Melanie is an excellent hostess, so helpful before and during our entire stay. I wish we'd stayed longer and will definitely look to return to Chateau du Palanquey one day.

Our stay was just perfect. The chateau is beautiful in a tranquil setting, surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. The hosts are welcoming. Definitely have the dinner which will be the highlight of your stay. We had stayed in a luxurious hotel in St-Emilion prior to coming here and would recommend Palanquey above and beyond!
