This was our second time at this wonderful hotel. We decided to return with our adult daughters, to show them this village in the Provence and to stay at this beautiful and friendly hotel. Staff was friendly and so helpful. Our room s were upgraded to mini suites and we enjoyed the town view. After the day tourists leave, it become very quite. The air is very fresh, without pollution. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. This place is so romantic, I recommend it highly.

My husband and I were in the south of France for three weeks, traveling around to various small towns, but making one location our "hub" for 3-4 night. In this area, we selected to stay in St-Paul-de-Vence having been to the town before and we knew that we wanted to stay at Hotel Le Saint Paul, having seen the lobby from the outside. Our selection could not have been more spot on and our stay could not have been more perfect. The hotel is in the center of the old city and driving into the hotel the first time, with its narrow streets and small passages, was a little nerve racking...but after the first time, entrance/departure from the hotel was a breeze. Their valet parking takes care of everything! The physical space of the building is amazing and I'm sure hundreds of years old...but all updated, modern and comfortable while still maintaining its historic charm. I've read some reviews about the hotel being "tired" or "bland" or "not maintained"....I don't know where those people were staying, but as a former hotel owner, this hotel is in A-1+ shape! Our room, #36 on the third floor", was spacious, airy, lovely decorated and exceptionally comfortable....so much so, we spent most afternoons of our 4-night stay just hanging out in the room, enjoying the atmosphere. The bathroom was beautiful, with double sinks, separate shower and tub, bidet, towel warmer, hairdry...and everything else one could hope for! The rain shower was exceptional and the water pressure and temperature (sometimes a problem in older buildings!) was excellent on both accounts. We arrived early, so our room wasn't ready until 3 pm (which, actually was closer to 2:15 when they were ready for us) so we were greeted by Paul in the Lobby. The lobby was wonderful with exceptionally comfortable chairs, toilets, water table and an amazing view from the window. And Paul, like all of the staff, immediately made us feel at home and welcome. He, like everyone on the staff, took exceptionally great care of us, always stopped to talk with us and were professional and knowledgable about where to go and what to visit. The hotel also has a restaurant where we had every one of our breakfasts and even a lunch. The food was fresh, pastries amazing and eggs beautifully prepared every morning. While the hotel's facilities were exceptional, the staff really were the stars of the show. Every person on the front desk was spectacular, every person working in the restaurant was helpful and friendly and even the housekeeper always greeted us everyday and asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. Now THAT's Relais & Chateaux service!!! I've read with confusion some of the other recent reviews for this hotel, whose guest obviously were staying close to the 4+ days we were there. Obviously, every person has their own experiences. But clearly, these negative comments do not speak to our experience nor any of the experiences from the other guests that we spoke with during our sta

[I'd like to address a comment to the people who have given Hotel Le St. Paul a poor review: if you felt the "condition of the property" was lacking, if you are going to "give the hotel another try" yet found the room "bleak" and the fridge "undersupplied" here's a thought: stay somewhere else. Having personally owned a 16-room boutique hotel and a 5-room bed and breakfast, as well as having extensively traveled around the world, I can attest to the harm petty negative comments like the ones above have on any business. Think twice before you decide to criticize a hotel manager because they were "uncontactable" or calling the staff liars. Words matter.] Our stay at HLSP was fantastic! Paul, Patricia, Charles and all the staff were gracious and welcoming. We got to the hotel earlier than expected and our room, understandably, wasn't ready. Lunch recommendations were offered and off we went. Our room was lovely with the perfect balance of charm and amenities; it had the feeling of a Parisian atelier. There were several seating options that were comfortable for reading or checking email. The bathroom was spacious with a large tub and separate stall shower. We had a minor issue with the showerhead that the staff addressed immediately. When it was discovered that the issue was more involved than originally thought we were offered another room, but we liked our room so much that we declined, and came back from dinner that night to a delicious bottle of chilled rose in our room - delightful service! Breakfast each morning on the terrace was a perfect way to start the day before going out into the country to explore. When we needed our car, it was promptly brought to the waiting area and when we returned there was always someone there to take the keys when alerted. What do we want in a hotel? Great location. A comfortable, well appointed room. Simple yet delicious breakfast. Most of all we want warm, friendly and attentive service. At Hotel Le St. Paul we got it all!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel within the walls of spectacular St Paul de Vence. The room was a dream- comfortable with a beautiful view. We loved the restaurant, bar and terrace for breakfast. The service was impeccable and staff very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return someday.

Absolutely charming hotel in the most charming town. Town is best in late afternoon and evening when tour buses are gone. Staff was so helpful, room was beautiful and we loved our short stay here. If you want to stay in town this is the place. Word of advice- don’t attempt driving in/out- meet transportation outside the town walls- the hotel staff will quickly meet you and transfer your bags.

We ended our anniversary trip to Europe in Le sud de France. We have stayed in several other locations throughout the south so we decided to stay close to Nice and Cannes as our flight leaves from Nice. We regularly stay at Relais et Chateau properties throughout France so we selected this location as our base for our travels to Monaco, Antibes, Cannes and Nice. Our centurion concierge worked with some great staff at this hotel to make the stay memorable. The location is wonderful, living inside a fortified castle surrounded by stone ramparts. The air is clean, the shops small and filled with local artists. The hotel has the most helpful staff including our host, Sebastian, and his manager,Paul. From the moment we arrived they made our stay effortless. For example theee is a narro crevice to drive the car to the stop baggage. I was afraid to do it with the big suv we had rented. Paul came running up to our car and easily made the trip down for us. Interesting lly after that I did the pass successfully. Cocktails and food is fantastique! What a joy to find Barman in Sebastian full of stories and new aperitifs served correctly and with grace. Dinner was outstanding under the stars with a young and enthusiastic staff eager to make us comfortable. I would gladly return here just for the hotel experience.

Room received very little light. In need of renovation. If you are a tourist for a night and desire an overpriced room, low service and hotel with few amenities, then this might work, but I would think there has to be better places to stay in Vence. Management not helpful or accommodating.
