Hotel San Gian

We have been skiing in St. Moritz for about 15 years and have stayed at Hotel San Gian for more than a decade. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we always enjoyed excellent service and great food at the hotel restaurant. After the pandemic, we noticed some changes – one of the restaurants closed, the staff changed, and unfortunately, the food quality had declined. However, the hotel still offered enough to keep us coming back, even though we often chose to have dinner elsewhere. This year, we were pleasantly surprised. Both the kitchen and the service have improved significantly. The food was excellent not only in presentation but also in taste. We tried a wide range of dishes from the menu and were not disappointed by any of them – from starters to main courses and desserts. We would like to sincerely thank the entire team – from the reception staff to the waiters – for their warm, attentive, and professional service. We are already looking forward to coming back again.

The food is unreal and there's a genuinely friendly atmosphere from everyone in the hotel. All the staff are friendly attentive and passionate about looking after their visitors. Special thanks to the wonderful chief - who puts so much love into both his daily menu and what he sends out to the table, the quality and flavor was off the charts. We also got to know Cristina and Lottie who were lovely and made sure we were OK. We had a room with a great view and everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well with no disturbances. My only suggestion for improvement is that the decor is a little dated & it needs modernisation. Then I think you would have something very nique and wonderful and worthy of 5*. All in all we had a very lovely stay in San Gian Hotel

This hotel had a lot going for it but it had two significant short comings for me. First, it was very difficult to find due to the lack of any significant "Sign" revealing the name of the building. There was one small ground mounted sign on the opposite side of the building as I arrived walking. This combined with the fact that it looked like it could have been an office building made it difficult to know when I was there, despite it seeming to be the building based on Google Maps. The second problem was the lack of air conditioning, and the room was quite warm. I opened the two windows wide open until bedtime and it was getting better, but the blackout drapes floor to ceiling did not allow the outside air to enter the room overnight.

Our family stayed at the hotel San Gian in February 2026. We had a wonderful stay, in large part because of the amazing and friendly staff. They truly went above and beyond to make our family feel at home and meet the trip an amazing experience for us all. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to come back one day.

I have no idea how this can be a 4 star hotel. It is adjacent to 2 gas stations outside of town. The decor is depressing. No pick up service from train station (be prepared to pay 35 CHF one way for a taxi). It looks like it should be a 2 star. I booked this thru the Glacier Express travel agent online. Be very careful what they offer you!

We were booked this hotel by a travel agent so we were not too sure what to expect. The welcome was sensational -the male receptionist was one of the best we have ever had. The room was compact but warm and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and I would recommend that you make that part of your package. Downside? Its MILES from anywhere. So if you don't mind being a 20-25 minute walk from town then stay here. We were disappointed with the location. Other than that it was nice.
