The Cheshire

Everything about the place was great. Nice rooms, great staff, excellent location, great complimentary breakfast.

Bedding had blood stains. We called the front desk about the stained bedding and they went new sheets up but expected us to ***** bed and put new sheets on ourselves. We were going to do that but the new sheets were damp so we requested a different room instead. Likely won’t stay here again.

Disappointed. Stayed on a road trip from Texas to Illinois. Pool played a big part in choosing the property but was unavailable during our one night stay because they were working on the roof. Would have been nice if they offered a discounted rate because of that. Breakfast was not “English style”, just a buffet. Bathroom in room was smelly. The adjacent bar/restaurant and tavern in the hotel were enjoyable.

Tracy and Roxie were very helpful. Our first room was not cool enough. The air didn’t seem to work well. They helped us to change rooms on the same floor. Perfect!

The Cheshire is a unique and beautiful place in a great location. That being said, it has some need of attention. While the room was comfortable, AC was quite loud and the overall cleanliness was not up to the expected standards. Example of cleanliness closet was dusty mentioned air conditioner Had lint buildup table. Obviously hadn’t legs had not been dusted. Overall, it was a wonderful visit and I would return. You just always hope these sort of places get the love and attention. They deserve.

It’s a very nice place to live in considering it’s very close to DeMun. The hotel is old, my bathroom lights did not work, but other than that there wasn’t a big issue.
