White Hart Hotel

For the cost the room was not acceptable. The shower didn’t work and the hose on the bath taps leaked. The toilet seat was broken. The overall standard of the room was well short of what I would expect for the price.

On arrival, at 2:45 (check in was from 2pm) the BBC were there filming & a staff member from The White Hart came out to the carpark to inform us we couldn’t check in till they had finished filming which would be about 5 or 5:30pm. We could have gone straight to our rooms but then not leave & there would be no food or drinks available. We had plans for the evening so too late to cancel but decided to go and get food elsewhere while we waited. In doing so, we got soaked as it was raining heavily. We ended up having an early dinner which was not part of our plan before heading back just after 5. After complaining at reception that we should have been warned in advance (by email or phone call) about not being able to check in until later, all they said was the BBC needed to finish filming, no complimentary drink or food offered as a way of inconveniencing us. I think it was very bad service. We’ve stayed here twice now but will not be returning again as they don’t seem to value their customers.

The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. I found the staff were polite and very helpful. I enjoyed my stay.

What a fabulous friendly welcoming hotel. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. When we had breakfast, we were also impressed with how efficient and friendly the server was. Will definitely return.

Excellent location, for the city and train station. The hotel was comfortable with good food. Parking was a little tight. The stairs inside the hotel are a little narrow if you are less able (understandable in such an old building)

Nice historic hotel, very central, close to cathedral and town centre, and many, many dining options.

Lovely hotel Very cosy quaint hotel. Mind your head on the low beems and doors but all adds to the stay. Beds are very cosy breakfast is lovely

Well, if you are into „Tudor‘s charme and age“… Hard to describe - it has it‘s own, but old Tudor‘s charme which you may love. It was a one time experience for me as this hotel is no match to the Samuel Rider next door. The street facing room gave me a lot of traffic impression even during the night.

Stayed 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. Our room was on the top floor, very quirky. The room was on a bit of a slope but the furniture was on levelling props. Couldn't see out of the window unless stood on the bed, then could just about see the cathedral. Not double glazed so there was quite a bit of road noise as located on a main road. Mattress could do with replacing. Macerator toilet was rather noisy, however, the shower was the best I've ever used in a hotel, very powerful and lots of hot water. Large TV. Very handy having the free parking and easy walking access in to the town centre. Breakfast was perfect both days and so was the evening meal we had there on our 2nd night. All staff we encountered were lovely and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if visiting St. Albans
