So, we choose this hotel due to it's proximity to Discovery Park for the Aftershock Festival (a four day music festival). While more expensive than the other options, the Marriot name carried with it an expectation of cleanliness and safety. Initially, the staff was helpful and courteous when the lock on our door was finicky. Not a big deal. We noted rust spot in the tub, but we were more excited the event we came for. The dirty windows didn't concern us yet. Found it weird and inconvenient that the only microwave was in the lobby. Then, on the fourth night of our five night stay, the roaches showed themselves. I was brushing my teeth when I the first one. Alarmed, I caught in under a glass in the bathroom and took a picture to bring to management. Its friend escaped into the hallway. Skin crawling but exhausted, we alerted the front desk in the morning. We were moved from a ground floor room to the fourth floor, and she planned to leave a noted for the manager- that was the limit of what she could do without his approval, she said. Oh, and offer us a breakfast. From the kitchen...in a place with roaches. Where there is one, there are many. No. Now paying much closer attention, we noticed more signs of neglect. The upstairs room's tub was also rusted. The rail on the little balcony lurched if you leaned against it at all. The walls needed a scrubbing. We learned a lot more about cockroaches. Apparently, they love to hitch a ride and lay eggs in all your cloth items like clothes and bags. Check out comes and we speak to the aforementioned manager who was left a note. He proceeds to tell us that the roaches are because it's been so dry. That all the hotels are dealing with them, so he couldn't do anything for us. Dude. We live in Reno, in the same drought. Roaches are a problem when someplace is dirty and neglected. Due to the Marriot name and the event, this stay cost nearly $3,000. For sleeping with roaches. Best he could do was that breakfast (again, no.) and ~5000 Marriott points~ which translates into about $35 off. For having to leave my bags in a plastic bag in my garage for two weeks to suffocate any hitchhikers and their offspring, for the horrible sleep, for realizing those things crawled all over the cup I used for coffee. Aftershock is yearly. We won't be back to this hotel next year.

A Cool place to stay and good experience but nothing in my room worked. The outlets and usb did not work and could not plug my phone in. The tv was not clear and fuzzy. The hotel phone in the room did not work. The room did not have a blanket. The bathroom needed a good cleaning. The girl who checked us in was not not helpful and didn’t know about the hotel. She also told us to come back for ice then said she was the only one there and could not get it and told us to walk to the bar. The guy at the bar didn’t seem happy to leave the bar to get the ice. The food was good and the dinning staff was amazing.

A relatively new hotel, a friend driving a car to drive to the hotel lobby will help you drive the car to the parking lot, and then give you a cardboard, you need to drive out and you can call the paper jam number in advance. Very convenient, just remember to pay for it

The motel was in fair condition. I was worried about any homeless or questionable people but the motel was tucked in the back corner and I felt safe for the most part. It’s right next door to Black Bear Diner and near the freeway. Unfortunately they did NOT have a fridge or microwave.

Comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. Best location in Sacramento. Everything is walkable. Good government rate. This is an old, 1970s building that has not been renovated since construction. The windows are original material. They do not seal. The room is a yellowish beige. There might be only two electrical plugs in the entire room, but none by the bed. Doors are original wooden material. Air conditioning keeps the room cool but not without a racket. I spent two days here in June. I slept comfortably. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Had parking been free this would be a four-star review.

I have been a long-time resident, 2 1/2 years and I have not had any problems by other hotel guests or staff. Customer Service by the front office has always been great and helpful and James is very knowledgeable, helpful and doing a great job. It's unfortunate that the prior 2 guests were un- happy. This hotel is 100% safe, and there is no broken-down cars. I think since I have been here so long I would know what's going on around here. The only thing that could be changed is an update on the furniture. Other than that GREAT HOTEL!!

The environment is beautiful, the health is not wrong, the sound is not good, the coughing and snoring next door, the breakfast waiter is particularly enthusiastic, the service is also thoughtful, the kind of American breakfast should have!
