Holiday Inn Victoria - Elk Lake, an IHG Hotel
4.2/553 Reviews
It is my understanding this property was just recently rebranded as a Holiday Inn. I am a diamond member with IHG and this is my new favorite property. Darrin at the front desk welcomed me, checked me in and was most pleasant and helpful. The lobby, rooms, public areas and restaurant all appear to be recently ”refreshed” with new furnishings with stylish and professional design. Gurinder at the front desk provided excellent customer service - she was kind and friendly, professional and helpful. In summary, I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a well managed, convenient and comfortable place to stay in Victoria,
Red Lion Inn and Suites Victoria
4/5109 Reviews
We regularly stay at the Red Lion Inn and Suites (2 adults, 3 children - age 4, 10, 12) as it is the most affordable accommodation for our family of 5 when we need to spend a night or two in the city. The proximity to everything else is great, and although you do sometimes have to park a bit away, there is always ample parking (you can always load in/load out at the front). Somehow, the rooms are always so quiet - we were there this time when totally booked out and still no noise. In the summer, the outdoor pool is always a hit with the kids, it's always very clean and well kept. We've never had any issues with room cleanliness - we run a cleaning service in our small community that includes hospitality cleaning contracts, so we are pretty fussy, too! I love that the floors are all granite, gone are the days of gross hotel carpet!! The staff have always been really nice to us, and have accommodated our requests really well. Extra blankets and pillows, extra coffee - no problem. Late check out, usually no problem. My only critique that has only come up the last few visits is the set up for couch beds/extra bedding. I am certain that a number of years ago I stayed at the Red Lion with some family members, and I ended up sleeping on the pullout bed and it was like sleeping on a CLOUD it was so comfy. It was a proper pullout couch bed, and I think there was an added memory foam topper. I would gladly sleep on that again! The last few visits we have been, where the set up has been a suite with either a kind bed or two doubles in the bedroom and a couch bed in the living room, the couch bed has been a ”click clack” style bed, where the couch cushions are the bed. The bed is not made up for additional guests (which knowing from hospitality experience, is probably so that guests can enjoy the couch during non-sleeping hours) so it is on the guests to fold out the click clack bed and make up the bedding. Though totally passable and clean as a sleeping surface, the bed is really not very comfortable. As we have three daughters, we usually give them the bedroom and my husband and I sleep out on the couch bed. We're in our late 30's and after a day running around with those monsters we are tired and old and ready to sleep! I've also found that the bedding that is included for this bed to be some what insufficient - both times including the sheets, one pillow and the brown insulator blanket (i.e. there are not enough pillows or a comforter). Also, I think a rollaway bed option would be great, and I'd definitely pay to have that option. This past visit we were 5 to a suite, king bed in the room and double click clack couch. We made it work because our 3 girls are happy to be cozy and share a giant bed, but if the option were there we'd loved to have had a cot to toss the youngest on. That is all! We will absolutely be back time and time again, but this is the one thing we have not thoroughly enjoyed during our last few stays.
Accent Inns Victoria
4.3/5103 Reviews
The environment of the hotel is ok, quiet, soundproof, bedroom, living room bathroom, microwave oven, carpet smells great, unpleasant smell, can't cook, stayed for 4 days and moved to Red Lion Suite Hotel, no living room, Kitchen, hood, induction cooker, pots and pans, the room is smaller than the accent hotel, has a separate balcony, a few hundred meters from Wal-Mart, it is very convenient to buy food and cook, the hotel is very clean, the only problem is that the sound is not good, sleep It’s easy to wake up, in general, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. I think it’s better for the Red Lion Suite Hotel.
