Selous Kinga Lodge

Very beautiful place with amazing and attentive staff. Close enough to the Selous game reserve and the animals come close enough you can hear then. Don't worry. The staff will ensure your safety. I'd recommend the game drive and boat ride.

Lovely stay with you all, Daniel you are a star, through no fault of yours there were several power cuts pity you don't have an immediate generator but I must admit when your on Safari these things are expected, All the staff were lovely and accomodating Would definately return. All 4 of the children tayla layton logan n Riley loved all the staff loads especially daniel who was so lovely with the two boys thank you for everything u did for them much appreciated see u all soon

We had an issue arriving in Tanzania with another tour company and had been left stranded at the airport. We made contact with Selous Kinga and their team went above and beyond to resolve and ensure we had a fantastic stay. All the team were so helpful and friendly and keen to ensure we had an amazing trip ….which we did. Nothing was too much trouble. The game drives were awesome, our driver Molee, guide Nixon and support team Saleh and Jackson were outstanding. What srarted as a stressful experience at the airport ended up being a wonderful experience that we will treasure forever and we feel we made new friends. We hope to return in the future.

The safari with our guide was really great! He explained everything in detail and could tell us a lot about the wildlife. The lodge was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. The team responded to every wish. The food at the lodge was freshly prepared and tasted very delicious. We thank everyone for this unforgettable experience and can only recommend it.

Our fist ever Safari……. And it will always stay in our heart. Amazing staff, who just want to please. Rustic surroundings. We stayed in “Mambo” which overlooked the river and was perfect for the sunset. It was perfect for first time Safari guests as it was rustic and atmosphereic yet had modern luxuries…. Wifi, electric, nice shower and toilet, four poster bed……. So you won’t rough it here. Everything about this lodge is authentic and in keeping with the surroundings. You will never breakfast alone with the cheeky baboons. Or dine alone as a bush baby visits every night. The pool area is super clean, towels provided a perfect respite between bumpy game drives. Amon was our guide who was very efficient and knowledgeable and accompanied us on the bush walk and sunset boat trip aswell. All of these were just amazing. But if you stay there and have some time….. ask the guide to walk you into the village….. it was just amazing, we got to go into a school and meet the children….bought some sweets at a local shop and handed them out…… a trip that will stay in our heart forever……. Make the time to do this.❤️ Highly recommend this lodge…… also recommend that you book direct with them as you will save money that you can use as tips for the hard working staff.

We recently spent two days at the Kinga Lodge with our two boys (12 and 14). Being that is is the slow rainy season the Lodge was quiet as far as other guests go. We stayed in a Riverview cabin that had three beds and a very large bathroom. The room was very nice and separated from other cabins giving a very private feel. Hussein is a new manager of the property and is attentive to any needs you may have. I appreciated his concern for the overall property safety and our movement around the property. You might ask why is there a concern? All I can say is when we pulled up to the property on arrival, there was an elephant in the parking area! Amazing. On property we frequently saw monkeys and Baboons. The pool was nice and our boys spent a few hours in it cooling down. Most importantly the staff at the Lodge literally did everything they could to make sure our stay was wonderful. Daniel was our waiter for all meals and he was very sweet and kind to us, a great person. Our meals were MUCH better than I expected and they have a talented chef on property. Lastly, on the night of our final dinner the staff came out and sang traditional Tanzanian songs to us, it was so much fun and a very nice thing to do. I would go back in a heartbeat, and hope to do so in the future. One last remark on the other reviews commenting on insects on property. Firstly, you are in an African jungle, insects and other creatures are there. No one should be surprised. Secondly, the staff at the lodge took all care to prevent anything of discomfort (including insects) and we had nothing in our room during our stay. After a long flight from the USA, the team at Kinga Lodge gave us everything they could to help us relax. Note: For all travel arrangements and Safari activities we used Honcho DMC Safaris, they did a first class job.

The kinga lodge is very beautiful, the staff is very very nice, eager to satisfy every request (they prepared for us a local dinner), the bush safari with Didi (the bushman) is unforgettable, and also the river safari at sunset was great!

The Selous Kinga Lodge belongs to the most beautiful, interesting, friendliest, calmest and cleanest lodges we have ever seen! The dip in the clear blue pool, surrounded by the funny and cute monkeys, after a long and bumpy Game Drive is amazing! In the sundown-atmosphere of the Rufiji River you can watch a family of elephants slowly walking through. Served with an delicious Kilimanjaro Beer from the outstanding friendly Bar Service. We would definetly come again.
