Maranton House Hotel Kensington

Mold in the shower, tiles appear to be barely hanging on to the ceiling, no vent fan in the bathroom (probably the cause of the mold in the bathroom), shower could definitely use new shower heads (they were heavily calcified), no filtered fresh water source (no water fountain, icemaker, or water bottle refill station), there is not someone on staff 24/7. I think I only saw a receptionist twice during my whole stay (both times he was in the office with the door shut), NO PARKING. Pros: close walking distance to food and grocery stores, if you have a car and need to park there is a parking lot by Hotel Lily and it’s relatively cheap compared to other places (£32 for 2 days), comfy bed.

Very warm welcome from the friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy. The location is perfect as it's 2 mins walk from the underground station where the Piccadilly and the district lines run. We loved it and if we need to be in the area again, we know where we'll stay! Highly recommend.

This hotel is convenient to Earls Court station. The rooms are clean and furniture is in keeping with the style of property. Towels and bed linen changed daily, Wi-fi and TV good. Room has windows and very quiet area

The property is in a great location for Earls Court tube. It's a quiet modest place to stay in need of some modernisation. It was clean and comfortable

We stayed in this hotel for four days and the experience wasn’t that pleasing, especially if related to how much we paid (which was a lot more than deserved). The room was small and with terrible hygiene. It had filthy moquet and curtains, and almost every piece of furniture was stained and covered in dust. We had to clean and sanitize every surface just to place our stuff. Showering was a nightmare since the shower was too small and its walls had mould on them. The toilet flush was weak and took a lot between each flush to work decently. There was an hairdryer but it didn’t work at all. The bed was the only acceptable thing, clean and comfy enough to sleep well. The staff was completely absent. The guy that gave us our room keys was nice but we only saw him that time. Same goes with the lady that did the cleaning. The location was perfect though. The hotel was close to the Earl’s Court train station which was linked to the piccadilly, circle and district lines so it was really easy to go anywhere in London. There were also many restaurants, patisseries and a nice mini market near us. In the end, the only thing that would make me want to come back is the location. I know you can’t expect a lot from a three-starred hotel in London, but at least comfort and basic room hygiene are essential and sadly the hotel didn’t have any of those.

This was clearly a budget hotel, decor in the public area was very tired. The room was a little better, the beds were comfortable & the bathroom was clean & modern with an ok shower. We dropped an earring & had to move the bedside cabinet to retrieve it & found a fast food sauce packet & very dirty skirting board so the cleaning was not very thorough. The hotel was in a good location which suited our needs & overall the price fairly reflected the quality of the hotel

Clean, well-maintained hotel in older building, convenient walking distance to the Kensington museums, and 2 blocks from the Piccadilly and District lines. Perfect for my purposes of a quiet, comfortable, warm place to sleep on a solo walking-based tour of London. Furnishings old but serviceable. Water temperature and pressure ideal. Staff, especially Nina, polite and responsive. To enjoy staying at this hotel, you do need to be comfortable climbing stairs, since there is no lift. If you use CPAP or other bedside electric appliance, be sure to bring your extension cord, since the closest electric outlet is on the other side of the room.
