Hotels near Sodankyläntie uimaranta in Rovaniemi

The room offered sufficient space, the bathroom was clean and looked new. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a large variety of food and drinks. The sauna is also very recommandable. The location is central. There is a shopping mall just across the street, local and long distance bus stops are nearby. Personnel was very friendly and supportive.

We booked a room on 6th floor 27.11.-2.12. They gave us the room 62-something. Room in general looked clean but the bathroom was dirty and probably not even cleaned. There was hair all over bathtub and the glass was dirty. We went to reception and got the different room but receptionists didn’t seem surprised at all for what happened. After that, they gave us the room 63-something and everything was fine til I went to the reception to ask for one more pair of towels to use in the sauna. The lady told me to use the same towel I use for showering (!?) but eventually she did give another one. Breakfast is ok but nothing special, you don’t get fresh juices just some water with flavour and food offer is quite small and same every day. There’s no room service or phone in the room to call reception. You have to walk downstairs for everything you need. Since the room is called deluxe and costs about 260€ per night in November the least I except is for it to be clean and to get one towel for the shower and one for the sauna. Also temperature in the room is weird and no matter how you set it on thermostat it is always the same. Good thing is definitely hotels location in the center, close to everything you need. This was my third time in Rovaniemi and there are definitely better options when it comes to “value for money” than this. Since I like winter activities and skiing, I will keep coming back to Rovaniemi but I don’t think I would choose this hotel again.

We booked this penthouse to have a nice weekend and enjoy beautiful view from the balcony. We carefully selected a very nice stay among all possible stays in Swedish Lapland and Finnish Lapland region reading all reviews and making a long research for a high-quality leisure stay. Instead we were forced to listen to around 9 hours of very loud unbearable rock through the whole evening. From 15:30-01 :00 90DB noise for 9 hours (harmful for health) 90 decibels is a high noise level, equivalent to the noise generated by a leaf blower or the sound level of a concert. Compared to 80 dB, 90 dB is 10 times more intense and twice as loud. Whenever you are exposed to this noise level, you should wear hearing protection. One could hear music even in the sauna. After two hours of nonstop noise and starting headache I contacted the host about full refund I got an answer that there is a festival just outside the building. Here is what I got as a reply: ”Is the music coming from outside? There is Santa open air music festival in the park by the riverside going thru the weekend.” Since host did not solve the problem I had to call to San Francisco USA airbnb support to solve the problem. Next reply from host was not apology and problem solving too. It was: ”This is a public outdoor event which have been promoted by the city of Rovaniemi. So it’s a well-known event, which attracts a lot of attention and visitors. We don’t ask our guests why they come to Rovaniemi. I can assume that many of our other guests come specifically because of this festival.” ”You cannot expect us to repost information about all public events in Rovaniemi.” I would not have booked this stay if I would have known that there is a very loud music in the whole apartment all night long non-stop. I do not know if anyone would. Since the attitude towards guest is so ignoring - I do not recommend this host. After getting in touch with Airbnb support I had a message from the host where the host offered second night instead of 82% refund (we would simply go home from that airbnb, the apartment was untouched yet). I accepted the night just to stop stressing. After listening to many hours of loud terrible noise I had a bad head-ache and a bad sleep. I would love to go home and regret making a booking. *it took us 1 hour to find parking outside before we checked-in. We parked on the river shore. Cleanlyness big minus: around toilet all walls in urine, dust on window floors and corners (non-professional cleaning) Hospitality non-professional. Host is interested in getting money, not in providing a nice and responsible service.

I used it as a couple in December 2022. It is located about 5 minutes on foot from the k supermarket in the city center, and is in the opposite direction from the area where restaurants are gathered. Although it was the winter season, the sidewalks were cleanly cleared of snow, and after getting off the bus in front of the supermarket, you could walk to the hotel while rolling your carry-on bag. Not far enough to take a taxi. There are many houses around and it is quiet. I didn't use it, but there seems to be a sauna. Breakfast was delicious. It was a general menu such as bread, ham, cheese, salad, yogurt. The room was clean, but there was no safe. There is no partition between the shower and the toilet in the bathroom, so the toilet gets soaked when you take a shower. Overall, it is a recommended hotel.

The staff at The Arctic City Hotel went out of their way to help us during a very difficult time. Prior to our arrival, our plans were disrupted by the sudden and unexpected death of a family member. We were devastated by the news and were unsure of how to proceed with our travel plans. The staff went above and beyond to help us navigate through changes to our itinerary. We were particularly touched by the staff’s emails offering kind words and condolences. It meant a lot to us. We cannot thank the good people at The Arctic City Hotel enough for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time. Their hospitality truly made a difference in our lives, and we will always remember their exceptional service with gratitude.

We stayed 3 nights spread out over our week in Rov. Each time check in was a breeze, each room was clean, warm, comfortable and the wet room had lashing of hot water. Perfect after a busy day of activities. The breakfast was exceptional for the price. Try the buttery porridge it’s amazing and I’m 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Boiled eggs,meats, cheese, yoghurt and the best bread for toasting. There is even a kitchen for guests to make their own meals and a funky lounge area. And not forgetting the large sauna. All in this is the perfect base for a holiday,we even used the underground car park. Highly recommend this excellent place and it’s friendly staff

I cannot fault the communications beforehand (high floor request met) the cleanliness and facilities of apartment 68 for our 4 night stay were brilliant as too the location. My choosing an apartment over a hotel was for the additional comforts. As a 2 guest apartment I have suggested 2 comfortable chairs or small sofa be provided as I personally do not enjoy lounging on a bed, but neither spending 4 nights on a dining chair! Sadly our discomfort did not end there as we were cold the entire time. The heating was on max and the bathroom was warm but not the living area. Contacting customer services I was told the overall heating was based on the outside temperature ( it was -19 ) and over 24hrs later a heater arrived which was totally inadequate, kept cutting out and having been warned not to leave it on whilst we slept I did not consider it safe. As we had returned late and were departing the next day we discarded it and ended up going to bed. I have seen other reviews where this has been an issue and would of considered it a relative easy fix. The exceedingly good review I could of given has been literally left out in the cold!!

When I went there, I didn't know that check-in was done at the front desk of Santa's Hotel, my sister hotel Santa Claus, so I had to walk for about 10 minutes. However, it is easy to check out by simply placing it in the mailbox at the entrance of Santas Hotel Rudolf. They are very comfortable and stylishly furnished, and have many conveniences, such as shampoos, pots and teas, and hair dryers. The reception at the Santa Claus Hotel is very friendly and polite, so it has received more appreciation.

The hotel room is not very big and the bathroom is a bit crowded. It can be seen that the decoration has been for a long time, but the health is very very clean. All staff are great. The breakfast is also great. I also prepared a lot of guide information in Chinese to go to Santa Village by car. Very convenient from the airport to the hotel by bus 7 Euros like most European hotels do not provide free disposable slippers and toiletries

Stayed at Arctic Light Hotel during a conference in Rovaniemi. Got a fairly small top-floor room with a roof window (hence, no view but of the late-summer sky). I think this room was slightly cheaper than a regular room. It was located close to an elevator, which I could hear but it did not bother me. The room was very clean, nice and cozy - and a good place to retreat back to after long conference days. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good selection of food, yogurts, cakes and coffee. The only downside was getting a thin orange juice from a machine. Fresh juice would have been more appropriate among all the other good food. The two gentlemen at the reception desk, Mark and Max, had a very pleasant manner and provided excellent service and advice. The hotel itself, located in the old city hall, is brilliant and good looking and beautifully designed. Definitely a place to recommend!
