During our stay at the Wildbad Rothenburg, we were impressed by the size of the historic building and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is picturesquely located outside the city walls, surrounded by tranquil woodland, offering a peaceful escape while still being within easy walking distance of the medieval Old Town. The rooms exude a classic, old-fashioned charm—they are spacious and clean, yet quite simply furnished and lack modern amenities like a television, which didn't bother us. However, the furniture is rather basic, and the beds, although comfortable, are a bit small. We also noticed some maintenance issues, such as a hole in the bedspread, which indicates that some upkeep is in order. Breakfast was served in an impressive dining room, adding to the historic atmosphere. The selection, while decent, was rather limited, with only a modest variety of food. A highlight of the hotel is the extensive, well-maintained grounds, which provide a relaxing environment. The proximity to the old town is convenient, but be prepared for a bit of a climb, as the path to the city gates includes some steps. Overall, the Wildbad Rothenburg offers a unique experience, especially for those who appreciate historic architecture and a quiet location. While there is room for improvement in some areas, such as room maintenance and breakfast variety, the charm and location still make the stay worthwhile. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
