We had the spring package today with Chelsea and Karla and it was amazing. The treatments were fab and they even got us a fruit platter for a special birthday to help us celebrate! We both really enjoyed our time there and will definitely be back.

So wonderful to find a Hotel that upholds the high standards that were once the norm in Irish Hospitality. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived with the friendliest of staff in every department. Most wonderful room with magnificent Atlantic Views and Bed offering the finest Sleep Quality. Dining Room literally overlooking the wonderful Beach with super Menu and service and the Residents Bar/Lounge just perfect. All in all most enjoyable and have no hesitation in recommending the Sandhouse to all including the most discerning and look forward to returning hopefully soon. Thank you to all at The Sandhouse. I booked a massage at the Spa (this has nothing to do with the hotel as I didn’t stay there). I have booked many massages here in the past when visiting the area and the massage I booked, I’ve had several times before so I’m familiar with what it entails. The therapist was pleasant enough, she was ages before she came into the room to do the massage (felt like she was wasting time). She seemed like a bit of a ‘Calamity Jane’ initially with one issue or another. But the worst was I literally paid for someone to rub oil into my skin. I kept on thinking it’s going to get better and feel like a massage soon!! It didn’t get any better, I wasn’t relaxed enough to fall asleep like she wanted me to, it was so frustrating, you keep thinking she’s going to actually massage me soon…... I should have said something but I didn’t, so I paid and left. I was too embarrassed to say anything because it was so bad. I always tip but just felt I couldn’t this time. It’s put me off returning again for what I can only describe as a ‘skin rub’. Shame as used to be a lovely place with great therapists.

Despite the scary weather in front of the Atlantic Ocean, the stay with the hotel was amazing. We got a beautiful room on the 3rd floor which is facing the sea. Two beds are so comfortable. The hotel provides the famous Ireland brand Voya as the skin care products. I also had a good massage session (very late booking but still got in for 50 minutes) with the wonderful lady, who knows my 'sore' spots! I wish to visit this place again in a better weather.

Group stayed here on a busy September weekend. Opted for the dinner, bed and breakfast package. Food was good , staff friendly. Had a view over the beach … The room was clean, bed comfortable. Guinness in the hotel bar was good 8.5/10 Will definitely return.

Stayed at the Sandhouse hotel in November 2023 for a family celebration and had a fabulous stay. Location, sea views, food, entertainment were all 100%. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Maggie and Paul who helped plan a great birthday celebration. The sea view rooms will not disappoint. Would highly recommend this hotel we will be back again!

Just returned from a two night stay in this fantastic hotel. Checkin was easy you are buzzed into the reception area. A sea view room is a must. We had a beautiful room looking out over the sandy beach with the sound of the waves lapping total bliss. Room had a four poster bed, sofa armchair a small table and two chairs. Furniture was olde world in keeping with the hotels overall look. Bathroom was large separate bath and big shower. Dinner was the best food we have eaten on a hotel break in years. The starters seafood cocktail and goats cheese were tasty and delicious. Mains both fish were equally as good as was the deserts. We could not find fault with anything. Dining room is stunning overlooking the sea. Breakfast both mornings was old charm with linen tablecloths silver cutlery no self service here food brought to you by the helpful staff. The bacon was the best I have ever eaten perfectly cooked as was the sausages. This hotel oozes old fashioned charm nothing is too much trouble staff are so pleasant and helpful Other hotels with higher profiles could learn how to treat guests from the Sandhouse Hotel. Totally recommend this hotel it is near perfect. Would have liked a fridge in the room and some bottled water. Not a dealbreaker just a preference.

Just returned from the most wonderful stay at the Sandhouse Hotel. This is truly a hidden gem in Donegal. From the outset the whole trip was perfect. If you are looking for a modern stylist hotel then this is not for you. This hotel ouzes classic hotel experience. The foyer was cosy and welcoming, the lady at reception was extremely pleasant and helpful. I love that this hotel has almost, like a maze style of corridors and bedrooms, it brought me back to being a child visiting old hotels. The hotel is spotless clean. Our room was very spacious and boutique style with a beautiful 4 poster bed. Checked in after dark and to wake up to those breathtaking views in the morning was an extra treat. The meal was outstanding, the staff, the service, all top class. The attention to detail throughout this hotel is second to none. Beautiful rooms and alcoves throughout to sit and unwind with friends. Every seat was comfortable and inviting. The staff were exceptional, all genuine smiles and seemed happy in their work. The pillows were even amazing. Breakfast with the panoramic views from Mullaghmore to St John’s point, even on a hazy morning were certainly worth a lonely planet 5 star rating. The breakfast both food and service again were of top high class standards. This hotel is a credit to Paul and his wonderful team. I am only sorry it took me so long to discover it but I most definitely with be returning and recommending to friends and family alike. Keep up the good work and look forward to returning again in the future.
