The hotel is very nice, clean and new. In the meantime, it must be said that breakfast, already paid at the time we made the reservation, did not offer either classical cornets (cream, chocolate or empty) or any kind of sweet. We chose then milk and cereals, but they were served with acid milk, and we decided to order a number of cappuccinos and coffee because the coffee in the buffet was imbeviable, clearly diluted with water. The surprise was at the check out, where we were presented the coffee and cappuccino account (paid, among other things, very expensive) because they were not included in the already paid breakfast buffet but ordered separately at the hotel bar. The stay at the Resort (11-19 July 2023 - together with my wife) was above all expectations: in the Suite the rooms, equipped with flat-screen TV, cooking corner and air conditioning, are very spacious, Always very clean and in order, provided with every comfort (although too comfortable the mattress from which it was difficult to get off at morning ...),a very large bathroom and a terrace with sea views that are a few meters away. All is designed to make the guest feel welcome and careful. The staff is very professional and very kind and provides very useful guidance. I thank the people responsible for paying all the attention they can. A place where I will certainly return as good Sicilian and which I recommend without continuity. Thank you all the staff from Pippo and Tania.

Check-in took two minutes, the receptionist was very professional. We got the key and clear instructions to our room, and the wifi password. The room was functional, but good enough for the purposes. The bed was large enough and comfortable. The room's windows faced the water, and we enjoyed seeing the ferry from the balcony when we opened the window. The room also had a working desk which was good, as we needed space to do some computer work. The bathroom amenities were ample, and we had plenty of fresh linen. Breakfast the next morning was a HUGE spread. Among all the hotels we stayed in Sicily, this one had the most food on offer. The waiter at the coffee station was commendable - we ordered a hot chocolate and the effort he put into making the perfect cup just made our day. I want to make a special mention to the lady at reception. I left my passport in the room after we checked out, and didn't realise it until over an hour later. I rang in a state of panic and she calmly reassured me that they had found it and she was holding on to it for me. Despite the slight language barrier, she communicated compassion perfectly. When I reached the hotel, she handed it over with the kindest smile, and that immediately dialled down my stress levels. 5/5 is not high enough for the service rating of this place, I would give them 10/5 if I could. And the lady at the front desk needs a promotion.

In passato provato per “svago”, questa volta come business hotel. Stanze confortevoli e comode, ottima la colazione con ampia scelta e la sala conferenze. Peccato per la palestra sacrificata in un punto scomodo con pochi macchinari e ad orari scomodi (9-21) per un albergo business.

Very good value. It is located in the center of messin, so is a 10m walk from the main station. Signing in was a bit confusing as there was no one at the door to let me in, but a number was provided so I called and I was let in. My room card was already premade in an envelope near the entrance, so I didn't need to do anything further. Only bad thing is the drinks in the fridge aren't free and you will be charged if you drink them.

We were there as a couple for 4 days, generally, it was a good experience, perfect location, tidy room and polite receptionists. Personally, I just didn't like the coffee machine on the breakfast self-service since the taste was unpleasant for me and we wanted to use laundry but it was a little bit pricy, with the price for the service we bought clothes.

I have stayed at il Galleone this summer together with my family the nights before and after my wedding. Il Galleone is conveniently located in the historical city centre, a stone away from the Duomo/Cathedral square. Everything is literally at walking distance and there are plenty of restaurants and places to eat in the elegant and peaceful neighbourhood. The rooms are well equipped with every comfort: air conditioning, hairdryer, fresh towels, toiletries etc.. They are very nicely decorated and elegant, so they suited perfectly the wedding pictures. The breakfast is kindly provided in the communal room where coffee facilities and pastries are served every morning. A special voucher is offered in addition to this for the very first morning when one can opt to have breakfast in one of the two historical coffee places located in the Cathedral Square, literally 100 metres from the Galleone. Such a bonus! Antonella and Rosario were perfect hosts (at times they felt like family), so welcoming and catering all the demanding needs a bride can have, always supportive and understanding. They went out of their way to make my family have the best experience possible during our stay and I will eternally be grateful to them for this. I highly recommend the Galleone to everyone who needs to be in Messina either for work or leisure. It's a special place run by very amazing people: You will feel like Home! Thank you so much!
