Windsor Guanabara Hotel

Stayed one night at this hotel. The neighbourhood does not exactly feel safe. Close enough to the airport though. Room is not very clean - the floor could do with a lot of better mopping - not clean enough for Walking on it barefoot. Gym is quite disappointing, there are 3 treadmills that work, forget about weight training in any sort. Sauna is closed too. Breakfast is decent as it’s free but it was soooo busy barely could find a table to sit at. Water in the fridge is not free but there’s no price tag or sign of it.

I stayed at this hotel during Carnival. It was incredibly crowded, and checking in took forever. There was a lot of security. On the one hand, this is a plus, because the city isn't exactly the safest. On the other hand, security was constantly stopping me if I didn't see my hotel bracelet. The breakfast was one of the best (especially considering that South America doesn't have a good breakfast culture. It's usually a big bagel and fruit at other hotels). The main drawback: the elevators weren't working. There are probably 5 or 6 elevators in the hotel. Occasionally, only 2 elevators were working for the entire hotel! It was such a shame! I'd wait 8 minutes for the elevator to arrive at my floor.

Breakfast was incredible. Managed to check in early and even got an upgrade! Bed was really comfy and the room was spacious. Location was on point, close to action yet quiet.

Hotel ultra comfortable, nice bed, spacious room. Amazing breakfast. Perfectly located in center, which is excellent if you don’t seek Copacabana! Walking distance from Napa, the museums, Sao Bento and metro behind the corner. Clean, the personnel very kind

Apart from stealing a t-shirt I left in my room just few minutes after I left, they’re rude and pretended to don’t know what happened. The guy on phone even said to me I can write a review, they don’t care. Bad costumer service room phone they never pickup, they charge you for water and even a freaking iron for clothes. I called in asking for iron and was told you’ve to go to the laundry and pay for it. Standards in Brazil is really low but for this so called a 4 star hotel is beyond low low. You can pay me I won’t stay there.

Perfect hotel for a good deal! The room was comfortable and clean! Bathroom was big and comfortable as well. The highlight was the breakfast spread and the taste! We loved our stay!
