Hestia Hotel Draugi

Well located in the edge of the old town and they provide parking in the courtyard (20€/day). The rooms are a bit old and the shower is quite cramped, but otherwise everything is functional. Bed is good to sleep in. Breakfast is very good with a lot of choices. Some noise from the bars on the streets right next to the hotel, but didn't really bother us.

Trip advisor hestia Hotel draugi We stayed here for 5 nights with friends and enjoyed our stay. Good central location which was within walking distance of lots of eateries and most tourist attractions. There's a lot to do and see here and we managed to do it all on foot apart from one trip on the tram. It is a little noisy in this central area on a friday night, but the hotel kindly left 2 pairs of earplugs in the room for us which really helped. Rooms were fairly small but comfortable with hot water and a comfortable bed, although one of our party found the bed a little hard. The reception was happy to provide an extra quilt though so we were fine.  They also gave us a map and some tourist information which was really nice of them.  Storage in the room was fine for a 5 night stay.  Excellent WIFI in the hotel. Breakfasts were good with a good selection including cereals fruit, cold meats and cheeses etc. I could have done with a greater variety of cereals though perhaps bran flakes but mostly fine. The coffee machine is very good.  They had a good variety of pickles. The toaster was very slow so there could a bit of a queue but not a major problem. Reception staff were friendly and sorted out any small issues we had. There was a small safe in the room. Overall very good.

Stayed for 3 nights recently. An excellent small hotel which is superbly located by St Peter's Church. It is positioned opposite the Hard Rock Cafe. The rooms are modern, clean and superbly comfortable and the staff very helpful. Highly recommended hotel.

This is a lovely hotel in the middle of the old town. It is located in quite a busy area, with a few bars and restaurants on the same street, and a five-ten minute walking distance from churches, malls, grocery stores, parks and museums, so getting around is perfectly easy. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the shower had great pressure. There was a fridge in my room, which came in handy. The breakfast was included in the total, and was served in the Nikolavs restaurant next door, and was absolutely varied and lovely. Additionally, the staff at the hotel was always friendly and lovely. I can definitely recommend a stay here!

You can't find a better option than this hotel when you look at the quality, location, and prices altogether. The rooms are clean, services get a refresh every day, and the breakfast is good. If you want to dive into Riga's nightlife, this is a great choice, super close to everything.

Good effort had been mase to lay the tables, provide seating so as amnay as possible could view the stage from which all activity emanated for the Christmas event I was at. The food was too local to me, but what I instead wish bring forward was the staff's attitude - great humour, understanding and making one feel welcome. Got blanket to heat me up despite my request being odd - I was fresh out of hospitala dn a bit challenged physically. An exciting Portuguese red wine, that grew in Bouquet when getting warmer amde my evening as wine's are some of my pass time!

This is a wonderful hotel in old town. The rooms were small, but very comfortable. Be sure and have the buffet breakfast as it is plentiful with a wide selection of European and North American foods. It is only a short distance to many of the old town sites. It was raining when we were there and they even have loaner umbrellas for the guests.

Just Returned home from a lovely hotel stay in the old town of Riga. We arrived from the bus stop just around the corner from the hotel.( we used the number 22 bus from the airport. ) when we checked in, the nice lady at the reception, explained the breakfast times, pointed out the facilities, and gave us our key to our room which was on the 5th floor.The room itself was well equipped, a fridge, tea/ coffee making facilities, large screen TV on the wall.( in my opinion, the TV was situated on the wrong wall. ) there was Olso a desk, and a couple of comfy chairs.there was a safety deposit box, and plenty space for us to store our clothes.the double bed provided, was comfy, and there was enough power points to plug in you phone chargers , and other gadgets. There were also earplugs provided. - I read on other review forums,that the the pubs outside get a wee bit noisy into the small hours. However it did not bother me too much.( maybe it had something to do with being on the 5th floor.) The room was also clean as a whistle. The bathroom was the same, spotlessly clean , spacious, bright, and a brilliant working shower. Plenty towels to use also. The breakfast in the morning was served between 7am-10:30am, and it was mostly continental, and some hot items, plenty for everyone, and coffee, tea, juice, to go round, there was also plenty staff, helping to clear tables, and replacing items if it was running low. We were there for 3 nights. And the hotel was perfectly situated to everything you wanted to see in the old town. All walking distance- St Peters church- 2 nims away, house of blackheads- 2 mins away, freedom monument- 10 mins away, Riga central market- 10 mins away. Loads of museums, no more than 10 mins walk away. Loads of restaurants, busy bars, sports bars , music bars, just steps from the hotel. We we ckecked in originally, we explained the our returning flight back home was not until midnight, so we payed a wee bit extra to keep our room for a couple of more hours to get a late checkout. One of the kind member on staff on the reception said that we can use the room for as long as we needed. A nice touch I thought, thanks again for that. We were also able to to use their luggage room, so we were not carrying our luggage everywhere. All in all Staff 5/5. Rooms 5/5 breakfast 5/5 location 5/5

Great location, but that's about the only thing great about this hotel. Actually, not totally true -- the bed was pretty comfortable and the room clean. So that’s a decent bar to clear. But despite the nice photos in the description, the room looked a like it was left over from the Soviet era. Not hideous, just old and tired. In fairness to hotel, we were with a group, so we probably did not get one of their better rooms. Our AC was making a dripping sound all night and although we reported it the first night, after 3 more days, nobody had come to look at it. The evening desk clerk was less than helpful on that and a few other things -- like locating Kleenex. No tissues available for the room, but he did offer me one from the box behind the desk. And his response to whether or not any English language news might be available -- "just what you see - we don't have any hidden channels". Mr. Charming he was not. To top it off, according the the person on duty the next afternoon, the night clerk had not reported the AC problem. By that time, the maintenance guy left for the day and then was out sick for a few days. Drip, drip, drip, drip all night long. Breakfasts were pretty standard buffet with a decent selection. We had dinner at the hotel one night with our group and were served some sort of noodle/fish casserole that was less than appealing. It had the look and taste of something concocted from whatever fish was left over from earlier meals. Not quite in the nasty category, but approaching the line. If the other hotels we stayed at on this trip were of this quality, I would have chalked it up to the group factor. But the others were good to excellent, so I can only conclude that this was not what they normally expect from the lodgings they book. I wish I could give the hotel higher marks, but other than a great location, there's just not much else to recommend this hotel.
